2 C Cheerios
2 C spoon size shredded wheat
2 C crispix
2 T dry gravy mix
1/2 C melted butter or margarine
1/2 C grated American cheese
1/2 C bacon bits
1 C dog treats (snausages, pupperoni etc)
What to do:
Pour melted butter into baking dish. Stir in dry mix, cheese and bacon bits. Add cereal and mix well until all pieces are coated. Heat in over for 45 minutes at 250*. Cut treats into size of your choice. When finished baking add treats and put in air tight containers. Shake well. Keep mix in air tight containers. This will also freeze well.
3/4 C rolled oats
3/4 C lowfat milk
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 C whole wheat flour
1 egg beaten
1/2 tsp. vanilla
What to do:
Chop oats in a blender or food processor.In a large bowl mix oats and milk. Set aside for 5 minutes. Add remaining ingredients. Spoon small amounts into a hot buttered skillet. Serve with a touch of cottage cheese.
2 C low salt beef or chicken broth
2/3 C water
2-3 ice cube trays
What to do:
Mix water with broth and pour into ice cube trays. Place in freezer. For an extra treat, add a small stick rawhide bone in center of of cubes in the middle of freezing. Serve outside unless you don't mind cleaning your carpets afterwards!! :)
1/4 pound beef or chicken liver
2 C wheat germ
2 Tbsp. whole wheat flour
1 C cooked barley
2 whole eggs
3 Tbsp. peanut butter
1 clove garlic
1 Tbsp. olive oil
1 tsp. salt
What to do:
Preheat oven to 350*. Place liver and garlic clove into blender until liquified. When smooth add eggs and peanut butter. Blend until smooth. In a seperate mixing bowl mix wheat germ, whole wheat flour and the cooked barley. Add liver mixture, olive oil and salt. Mix well and spread mixture into a 9x9 greased baking dish. Bake 20 minutes or until done.
When cool, cut into pieces that accomadate your dog's size!
