Isaiah 49: 15-16, 18, 25

Can a mother forget the baby at her breast
and have no compassion on the child she has borne?
Though she may forget,
I will not forget you!
See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands;
. . . .
Lift up your eyes and look around;
all your sons gather and come to you.
. . . .
I will contend with those who contend with you,
and your children I will save.

We had our second perinatologist appointment today.  We were so excited to see Caleb again!  Sheri got to hear the little 'swish-swish' of his heartbeat over the ultrasound machine.  This is a completely different sound from hearing the heartbeat with a doppler - which is more of a 'thump-thump' sound.  Dr. Demianczuk (perinatologist) was very encouraging and optimistic about Caleb's health.  We are encouraged to know that his right kidney still appears to be functioning perfectly - there was a normal amount of amniotic fluid surrounding the baby.
    It is amazing to know that Caleb is weighing 3lbs, 10oz!!  We can hardly believe that he is getting so big!
    We also had our first appointment with the pediatric urologist, Dr. Mix, today.  Caleb will need to have an ultrasound done three days after he is born.  When he is six to eight weeks old, he will need to have two other tests done - one to test his left kidney's function, and the other to test for reflux (when the urine backs up the ureter back into the kidney.)  If Caleb requires surgery, it will not be done until he is at least a year old.  Dr. Mix didn't appear to be too concerned with Caleb's cysts.
    We were really encouraged to know that we can have a natural birth; waiting until Caleb is full term for delivery.  This is such an answer to prayer!!

April 25 continued...
Kevin, aka ' papa' is really excited for Caleb to arrive.  He prays for him, kisses him through my belly, and talks with him every day.  Kevin was really happy to hear Dr. Mix say that Caleb would still be able to play hockey.  That was REALLY important!
    Our nursery is pretty much ready to be occupied; we have our crib and change table, clothes washed and put away, diapers stacked, and our car seat and stroller all ready to roll.  We are feeling really ready to have this baby - and also, slightly petrified to be parents.  After all, there is more to parenting than just diapers and cribs.... we need a lot of prayer too.
Thank you Father for new life.
Thank you that you hold all of us
within your love.

"See how the lilies of the field grow... If that is how God clothes the grass of the field... will he not much more clothe you...?  So do not worry, ... but seek first his kingdom and his righteousness,
and all these things
will be given to you as well."
