This is the primary location of the Shin-Ra Corporation. It is here that the Corporation is based and its finest establishments are situated.
This city-on-a-plate is marvellous with the most elegant design schemes in the world. The most high-tech, too! The city is divided into 8 Towns, or Sectors, and each one originally had a name.. Amongst other things damaged and lost with the attack from Diamond Weapon, the names of these Sectors have also been lost and forgotten.
In each Sector is a Reactor. At one time, 8 reactors worked vigorously to provide power to Midgar and Kalm. Reactor 1 is in Sector 1 and that is to the North. Reactor 2 is in Sector 2, which is to the North-East, and so on for a full 260 counter-clockwise motion around the City's Plate.
However, certain events related to the attack instigated by Weapon has brought the city to its knees. Only one Reactor is still functional. The ruins of the Sister Ray remain idle; although some of it is being salvaged for scrap. A project is underway within Reactor 2 that is intended to bring back a low-cost, low-maintenance power source without risking harm to the Planet using the element "Hydrogen." |
