SEC {Shin-Ra Electric-Power Company} public timeline.

The Shinra Electric-Power Company is the largest mega conglomerate in the world. Its original purpose was the production of war-time profitable weapons and running peace keeping services. Throughout the course of the Wutaiian conflict advances in military training and technology, even so far as to the development of the first tanks on The Planet, were commonplace in the halls of Shinra Incorporated. The key to their weaponry was the unique energy source their warheads used: a refined natural substance known as Mako. The Shinra Corporation produced it�s weapons and arms solely for one side of the conflict. The war seems so long ago, that the nation they sided with seems to be little more than a myth. The name of the nation was Midgard. The government of Midgard formed a strong military alliance with Shinra Incorporated, whose headquarters lied right in the center of the eight Midgard cities, making them a strategic location. The Shinobi clan who ruled Wutai believed that Midgard and the Corporation were expanding too far and too fast. They decided to take arms against this eastern threat. The war lasted for over 50 years. Shinra was already an immense corporation, but this is the time when Shinra began to truly thrive. Massive funds came in from Midgard, and the money was enough to fund not only the initial weapons production, but all of Shinra�s side projects. During the war, the Nation of Midgard was forced to declare bankruptcy. However, the glamorously rich Shinra Corporation bought the country. The Eight Cities that now make up Midgar, Junon, Fort Condor, Kalm, the Chocobo Farms, even the islands surrounding Mideel were all purchased.. Now owning an entire continent, the Corporation gained the ability to launch it�s plans on a much grander scale. The people of Wutai still fight against Midgard, now referred to as simply Shinra Incorporated, but their efforts were mostly in vain, and although the war continued, Wutai was showing no signs of victory. As the world sunk into a bitter stability, Shinra realized it�s true potential, the Mako energy they produced for weapons could be pumped on massive scales to replace cumbersome coal as the worlds fuel of choice. Reactors were built, first in Nibelheim, as a test. It was massively successful. Shinra�s focus, while remaining highly on weapons, also changed to energy production and transportation. Scarlet Regina makes her debut at this point, designing the Junon Cannon.
Rufus was born... Only his mother paid attention to him.
Fyona was born the next year.. Again, only mother's attention.
A few years pass in this steadiness.
Rufus is age 10, Fyona 9. President Shinra hires a young architect by the name of Reeve Anderson, whom graduated top of his class, perfect, to have an absolute honor. Reeve was to design a megalopolis to be known as �Midgar City�. Most design options were left up to him, and soon, construction began on the 8 reactor plate design.
Shinra�s genetics department made a massive archaeological find. They discovered what they thought to be an Ancient, buried in the northern crater. They named her Jenova. An almost pun-like contraction of languages, translating roughly into �New God,�just like the name �Shinra.� Experimentation begins in Nibelheim with samples from Jenova. Gast, soon after beginning a relationship with a specimen he believed had a tie to the Ancients, made a startling discovery about the �ancient�, he became quite shaken by this, and formally resigned from Shinra, taking his love with him. Hojo becomes top researcher. Gast flees to Icicle Inn, where he begins recording videos that document his findings. Jenova is no Cetra; she is an ancient alien life form that once attempted to consume all life on this planet. Furthermore, his beloved, Ifalna, was the only true descendant of the Cetra still alive. They have a child named Aerith. Deep within Nibelheim, Professor Nagamura Hojo rapes his assistant Lucrecia, who vaguely complies, in the name of science. The child is injected with Jenova�s cells while still in the womb. The child is Sephiroth. Enraged with the actions Hojo took, Vincent Valentine, a member of the Turks who had a romantic interest in Lucrecia, attacked Hojo. He was subdued, experimented on, and locked in the bottom of Nibelheim�s Shinra mansion. Lucrecia dies in childbirth, Sephiroth survives.   His growth is accelerated, and within a few years he is physically and mentally mature. His memory is augmented so that he doesn�t notice this.
A few more years pass, in which construction of the city is completed and Rufus becomes publicly known. He starts gaining attention from his Father. Fyona is still left ignored by her Father.
The Turks storm Icicle Inn. Shinra has learned of Aerith and Ifalna. They capture the two, and gather some samples, but soon they escape into the Midgar Slums, at this point simply remnants of the cities that once were there. Aerith is left with Elmyra.
Sephiroth is put into the war. He almost immediately rises through the ranks.
     The war ends. Sephiroth was named the Top SOLDIER Officer. Heidegger goes from a General of the regular army to Department Head of the Peace Keeping Division.
Rufus turns fourteen, Fyona turns thirteen.
A space exploration program was developed in a remote location on the west bank of the Greater Continent. Lashenko Palmer was put in charge. The program continued for 27 rockets as it rallied public support from the world, however Rocket 27, which was set to be the first manned flight into space, failed due to a crew failure, and the space program simply died after this massive failure, which damaged both the rocket and the launch pad irreparably. A town sprouted amongst the wreckage. That town is Rocket Town.
    As the usefulness of Mako energy became apparent to the outside world, The reliance on coal mining diminished. The purposes that Mt. Corel--as the world's largest and most productive coal mine--served started to diminish as well. The town of Corel eventually entered poverty. The Company's profits sky-rocketed!
     What those of Corel called an "accident" occurred in the nearly formed Corel Mako reactor. "Some vigilante terrorists decided to bomb the Mako Reactor of Corel," said President Shinra that day with his 17 year-old son, Rufus Shinra, standing behind him. "Evidence points to a select group. They will be punished." Punishment came swiftly, the Shinra Times said, "The terrorists knew that they were doomed, so they dressed in stolen uniforms and burned down the town of Corel to rally up disorder and make it look like they were killed; intending to cause a world-wide outbreak against Shinra, Inc." Obviously, the terrorists failed. Reports say that the terrorists were found ditching the stolen uniforms over a valley, and when they refused to surrender, they were shot--their bodies falling into the valley. The two terrorists shot down that night are identified as "Barret Wallace and Dyne." Dyne's last name was never given to the public.
     Sephiroth, along with a member of SOLDIER and three Shin-Ra troopers were pronounced dead, due to accidents in the Nibelheim reactor. Within a few years, Hojo commanded the Jenova Project be sent to the Shinra building.
     Fyona was put into a finishing school. Rufus graduated prior but visited periodically.
     Rufus became 18. Fyona became 17.
     Rufus was given the position of Vice-President and some control over the Corporation.
     The visits from Rufus to Fyona became less frequent.
     Rufus became 21. Fyona became 20.
     Fyona passed the private school with honors at the top of her class.
     Rufus went away on 'business', spent the entire time with his sister in the Shin-Ra Mansion.
     Bombings of Mako Reactors began. Local Midgarite terrorist group, AVALANCHE, claimed responsibility.
     Sector 7 was destroyed. AVALANCHE blamed. Shin-Ra rescue teams implemented to gather survivors.
     President Shinra was murdered. Rufus was returning home on his 22nd birthday. Rufus inherited Presidency.
     Rufus gives his inauguration speech. He changes the Company scheme from world control through money to world control through fear. Promises to maintain world order through the exploitation of fear.
     Fyona discovered the news, became Vice-President but was kept secret; even then no one knew she existed.
    WEAPONS emerged. Meteor was summoned by Sephiroth.
    WEAPONS are discovered to be killable. Heidegger is given credit for the first downed WEAPON, Sapphire.
    Company devised a plan to rid the world of this threat. The Junon cannon was imported to Midgar. HUGE Materia was gathered to be put into the refitted Shin-Ra Rocket No. 27 and then sent to destroy Meteor. Plan failed. New plan to kill Sephiroth and watch Meteor vanish is devised. Junon Cannon is moved to Midgar and attached to all 8 Mako reactors�dubbed 'Sister Ray'�and is fired at the Northern Crater to destroy the barrier. Hojo is assumed dead in the wake of this all.
     Sister Ray destroyed Diamond WEAPON. Diamond's counter-attack devastated Midgar, destroying the uppermost levels of the Shinra tower and was believed to have killed President Rufus Shinra.
     Reeve, the next in chain of command, does not take. He allows Heidegger and Scarlet to vie for power while they combat terrorists within Martial Law stricken Midgar from within the 'Anti-WEAPON', Proud Clod. Heidegger received crippling injuries. Scarlet escaped. Turks abandoned their posts. Shinra began to see its downfall, but Reeve takes command and holds the reins together while a few parties gathered their resources. Meteor half-strikes. Much of Shinra Building destroyed, but surprisingly the top just �fell off,� remaining mostly in a few pieces. A construction crew sets about repairing Shinra HQ, and other damaged portions of Midgar.
     Fyona stepped in, taking control for half a year, rallied things back, and relinquished her control to Rufus upon his recovery. President Rufus claims to never have sustained any injuries and was 'on vacation'.
     Rufus is again in power. Both Heidegger and Scarlet have resurfaced, along with Hojo, although he is even more deranged than before. Shinra�s focus may shift back to the military, with Wutai liberating themselves from occupation and moving on to capture Rocket Town.
