Obviously, the children savagely hacking Rufus to pieces risks not going over well with the censorship commission. Except that the scene here is very graphic, seen from above and with a real "plastic" (three-dimensional) beauty. What's the problem? There are children in the scene, is what they keep telling me. And yet the scene isn't gory, it's the glorified representation of a foretold killing. Seen from the sky, the children covered in mud swarm like vermin on a detached piece of meat. It's beautiful, pictorial and exceptionally poetic (from my point of view). Nothing is defined yet but I sense problems coming. With the help of the SFX (guys) I'm going to try to veil the image with a light mist and attenuate the bright red of Rufus's entrails, but quite honestly I'm not in favour of this. Without this scene the end of the film becomes unbalanced. I'm not going to take it out. No matter what happens.
