| Paddock's Punches Green Country Ruff Riters hosted a workshop on Saturday, April 8 at the Public Library in Poteau. Instructor was Anita Paddock, former instructor at University Ft. Smith, whose many writing workshops at Ft. Smith�s Miller Branch Library have been very popular. This free class was open to the public and focused on adding punch to short stories. Ms. Paddock, in a lovely southern drawl, explained that writers need to "write with punch!" while cautioning them to not "over-egg the custard" to the point the fiction loses it believability. The group participated in a writing exercise and then took time to critique one another's work, with the over- sight of Paddock's experienced guidance. |
