Comments:
1981 was a great year for music and IMHO this album tops the list. Emotional, catchy, sentimental and rockin all at the same time. The tribute to the James Gang "Still They Ride" might be my favorite or perhaps the anthem of idealistic youth "Don't Stop Believin". Maybe "Open Arms", one of the original power ballads? Oh its no use, Steve Perry and company never sounded better than here. If you like or wish to look into 80s arena rock this CD is at the head of the class. Why the -? Three forgettable songs but the other seven more than make up for it. The 80s never sounded better than this.

Favorites: "Don't Stop Believin", "Stone In Love", "Still They Ride", "Escape", "Open Arms"

Skippers:
"Keep on Runnin", "Lay it Down", "Dead or Alive" (and these aren't that bad)

Reviews Explained:

Artist, title and grade are self explainitory.

Style is like genre except its a statement instead of a labe
l.

Curve is how "familiar" or "foreign" the music is likely to sound to someone familiar with the general category (e.g. rock, metal) but not the particular style (e.g. symphonic black metal, 70s art rock). Easy means the listener would "get it" right away whereas hard means that the listener may be "put off". This could be due to longer song length, unfamiliar or ever changing rhythms, melodies, tempos and / or hooks or the dreaded screaming, shrieking, growling vocals.

Favorites are the songs I like the best. Skippers are songs I usually skip when listening to the CD.
