The Biologists now believe the modern day "dog" was decended from the "Miacis" who is from the Canidae Family, (having 36 species). Among these species are the Wolf, Fox, Coyote, Jackal, Hyena, Wolverine, Dingo, Raccoon, Bear Family, and "all" Cats..........The Wolf, which is found to carry a strong variable gene, and the closest relative of todays dog, may explain why our domesticated dog also comes in as many drastic variations of size, shape, coat, colour, character and disposition, thus making todays public more aware of the reasons the variety of colours are occurring in many of todays breeds. Many of these colours were said to have been kept secret or even destroyed simply because they were "different" in the past.....perhaps simply because of the fear of the unkown.......However, White coat colour has been a simple and "Natural Occurance" in the history of this family for many centuries, and will continue to be one.........
