Music and Me
Well, I've finally gotten down to putting in a page about music. I've left out some of the details cos they're too long, however, I think there should be enough here to satisfy your curiousity. Enjoy!
I'll just start with a brief history. I started organ lessons when I was 4 and stopped when I was 6, after I finished JMC. Actually, my parents really wanted me to continue, like my sister, but I was a really stubborn girl then, so I got my way. In 1994, I started taking violin lessons with the school because ( my parents better not see this...) everyone was learning then ( for a reason, but that's another story)and I wanted to fit in, desperately. I also ended up joining the string ensemble, but not because of the above reason. Well, soon enough, everyone stopped lessons and another instrument became popular, the clarinet. I didn't start on that though cos it was already mid 1995 and I was going to leave at he end of 1995, besides, I was on a scholarship. At the end of 1996, I started taking lessons again but stopped after about 4 months, I think, firstly because I lost interest and secondly because I didn't like going for lessons. Since then, I haven't taken any more music lessons.
Presently, I am singing in the wonderful RGS choir.=) I was previously in 2 other choirs, church and my ex ex primary school ( the one in which I started my violin lessons). I don't know what most people think of choirs, but some of my old friends used to think that being in a choir was the greatest privilege of all time. Sad to say, they weren't in the choir. Another group of friends think that choir girls are all very kuai1 and si1 wen2, like elegant young ladies. I can't tell if this is true or not, but frankly I don't think it is. Of course it is a little bit true, after all we are a little bit kuai1 and si1 wen2 and times, right pple? I mean, it's kind of dangerous ( and painful) to be rough when you're in your choir gown and painfully uncomfortable court shoes.*grin*
Anyway, choir's been really great, and I really enjoyed my first year in the RGS choir. Practises were fun but tiring esp. the dance sessions with Miss Lim.*grin* RGS nite was quite a success too. SYF was scary but turned out not to be so bad after all.=)All in all, I've made many friends and really look forward to next year.=) For all my seniors who are reading this, must come and visit hor? And keep in touch too!=)
