Alamo: a Holy War or an Invasion

Let Us Discuss the Foreign Policies of the United States of America

In February 1836, one hundred and eighty-seven volunteers who were led by Davy Crockett gathered in Alamo, Texas to resist the Mexican Army. Having fought against more than three thousand enemies for thirteen days, they all dead, and then the battle ended on 6 March. All they left was nothing but a slogan: “Remember the Alamo!” There is no doubt that they were brave. However, was it a correct war?

Let’s think of the history of the nineteenth century. Since the early 1800s, gradually, a great number of Americans have started to emigrate to the West. Some of them went to northern Mexico, which wasn’t the land of America at the same time. In 1823, Mexico government legislated a law to prohibit the increasing immigration of Americans, but Americans didn’t keep this law in mind. Finally, there was the Mexican War unfortunately occurred in 1846, and the Mexicans were defeated. Thus, the United States “obtained” Texas, Utah, New Mexico, Arizona, Nevada, and California. If we think about this with moralities and justice, we will have a question: was it right for a country to invade another country and to claim that the land is its? Maybe, they just “entered” the land as the Japanese did in China years ago.

Moreover, we can even find that Americans did a great deal of monkey business in the nineteenth century. They harried lands from not only Mexico but also Spain. In addition, they absorbed Hawaii with tremendous political pleasure in 1876. Moreover, they sent Admiral Perry to “ask Japan to change their closed policy with four armored ships." Yes, all they have done was for their country, the United States. Besides, did the other countries have their own rights? Of course they did, but because of the conflicts between them and Uncle Sam, they were “taught a big lesson." In 1936, a crazy man, Adolf Hitler, had the same excuse: we need Lebensraum (living space).

On the other hand, let’s think about Indians. After the Federal Government “had bought” Louisiana from Napleonic Empire, they went to the “new-found” land and explored it. Having killed so many buffaloes and robbed Indians of their lands from Indians, they made Indians, the most friendly and peaceful race, unable to live and put up with those white people. But the Federal Government did not know how to behave themselves but decided to settle all the Indians; the original owners of America, to another place alone the Mississippi River. On their way to Mississippi, almost one-third of fourteen thousand Indians were died of the diseases, hunger, and chill. Finally, in 1876, Cheyenne, Apache, and Sioux could not endure any longer. They resisted, but Troopers and the U. S. Army came, and madly butchered those so-called barbarians. Hereby, we can understand how American government will always do whenever they are blocked.

These were their domestic policies. How about their foreign ones?

They are the same. Every time, if there may be an event with ill effects on the benefits of Americans, the big brothers in White House always ask: Where is the nearest aircraft carrier? It infers that the United States wants others to give in all the time. For instance, in 1988, they “fixed” Panama. All they did was for their special rights of the Panama Canal. Moreover, in the Gulf War, they hadn’t thought of anything about justice or moralities but an amazing three-letter word, “O-I-L” in their greedy and mean brains. Whether they exert domestic or foreign policies and activities, they care about only themselves and their benefits.

Because the United States was a superpower before, and they are the only one now, we cannot but put up with them. Who can challenge them? None of the countries dare open the Pandora’s box. Personally, I think that since the Old Roosevelt age, never have they done things different from one form: violence. What Monroe said in 1823 just include the entire America. On the contrary, Uncle Sam now-a-days wants to be the police of the whole world! Hardly dare other countries say no to the United States, for fear that they will “be punished seriously” just like Saddam Husseim.

The United States is not only a super-power but also super-skunk, or maybe another Dritte Reich to other countries. They seem to be the most horrible neo-colonialists. They want to show the flag with their violence all the time, whether by force or by economic influence. To show the flag is not a correct thing, especially by some evil means like Super 301 Bills. In fact, it appears to be their most typical and most common diplomatic policies and means. Straitforwardly speaking, they are as abnormal as a psychopath.

In conclusion, thinking of what the United States has done, I just want to say one sentence: Let it be anathema!
