TEXTILE DESIGNING
The curriculum includes the areas of surface design (print and embroidery) and constructed textiles (weave and knit) . It provides an understanding of the interconnecting aspects of production, consumption and innovation in relation to craft sector, handloom sector and fully mechanised sectors. Computer aided designing for woven and printed textiles, Design Management and Textile Technology are important aspects of the curriculum.
The course offers a unique opportunity to study a range of textile disciplines with options in print, embroidery and weave. They are exposed to the rich varieties of Indian textiles with their weaving and printing techniques and get an opportunity to do projects in one or more techniques i.e. Ikat, Tie-Dye, Brocade, Jamdani etc
