Or was it just a delusion of a mom? But, she remembered the fight of the Guapda It mustve been a while now. Ruby starred out over the hills. The animals have returned to peace, but since then, they had become more out-of-contact with her. Maybe because she was unable to destroy the Guapda right away- maybe because they feared her difference too much. Ruby sighed and took up a large wad of the Guapda leather. It was soft warm. Ruby rubbed her head against it. She hadnt had any clothes since the day her old clothes were burned of by the monsters digestive juice. Alls she had were the tight-knitted bark underclothes, making her look like she was in an armor made of basket. She had been too busy, day after day, filling in the massive holes made by the tunneling Guapda. Animals kept falling down them and she had to keep rescuing them. She had decided to go to the root of the problem. Winter was also coming, which made the air moist and ready to pour down rain. But occasionally, a tropical sun warmed her during such storms. She looked at the comfortable fabric and wrapped it around her. It was so soft, and was a beautiful luxorious black color- amazing how it came from a monster. She was sick of skirts. She wanted something different. She starred at the fabric. Then she sighed. It would take too much time up to design something right now. She wouldnt want to be caught up in the rain if it did happen. She sliced of a few yards of fabric and wore it as a cloak to keep warm. But the rest of the massive skin from which she cut covered the whole large hill. She ran and jumped against the leather. Oo! Ruby yelled, swiftly sliding down it to the bottom. She arrived at the huge hole. She had covered it with logs in the meantime, but that wouldn't hold up against the rains. Lifting her hands in the air, she created a seismic wave near the mountain of dirt next to the hole. She yelled a bit to psyche herself and her energy up- and the mountain of dirt fell down, tumbling tons after tons into the dirt, breaking the logs into the pit. The animals watched her from all around, flustered at her power. The dirt fell in perfectly. This hole was done. She jumped up and looked around her. It looked like it was gonna rain a bit. Hmm. Ruby thought, looking up. She still had one more hole to fill in today. And the one she just filled took up a lot of energy. She did just move a mountain Some rest... She pushed away the idea. She rushed of at a blinding speed, leaving the animals clueless of her whereabouts. They then began to try to find her scent in the misty air. Oiy! Ruby yelled in frustration, focusing her energy on the massive mountain of dirt. Rocks and skeletons held it up and it wouldnt budge. She needed to fill in the big ditch below. It was deep but not too deep. It was just a really long ditch, not a hole. She sighed. She jumped up the hill and kicked off a layer of rocks, bones and dirt into the ditch below. They landed in the ditch with a large tumult. Boom! Boom! Hui! (Blast! Blast! Stupid!) A parrot trilled, flying onto Rubys shoulder. Na boom! Nahi hui! (No blast! Stupid idea!) Ruby told the parrot, it nipped sharply on her ear, and she emitted a yell. She pulled at one of its tail feathers and it flew off screeching. Ruby laughed at it. She then proceeded kicking off layer after layer, ton after ton of dirt until the mountain reduced to a small hill. Ruby looked at her work. It would do. Mm (Eat) Ruby said, looking up at the sky. She was famished. Ravenous in her hunger, she trudged through the forest, eyeing all the fruits available to her. At last, she found one and she grabbed it off and ate it. Animals gathered around her, begging. She kicked the tree and every single fruit fell off. They feasted and Ruby ran off to be alone. Ruby was in the temple. But she was not just anywhere in the temple. She was starring into the clear blue pool near the temples hidden back splash. The turquoise tiles glared with the firelight. She smiled, threw the pit of the fruit into the fire, and dove in for an evening swim. This time, the fires light shone through mirrors to light the underneath of the water. The water was warm and she drifted in it slowly, her eyes wide open and starring at the pictures of the Halcyon bird. Was it her mom? Ruby now thought it almost impossible for the sky goddess of life to be her mom. She was humbled at the thought that it was all just a dream but the song her mother hummed She had heard it before Ruby shook the thought off. It didnt make sense; she just wanted to drift in the pool of blue crystal water. Drifting to the bottom, she laid down flat against the tiled floor. She went here at times to think. What was a mother? What role did she play? Ruby thought. Where did she come from? Ruby scratched her head. The animals had mothers and fathers. But they were always just born from the mother. Then she realized the mother cared for the child until they were old enough to fend for themselves. They occasionally saw each other. But what part did the father play? Ruby thought. Of course! -In some cases, he was the food provider, chief of their clan or um. Ruby thought. Or he just bossed everyone else around and took their food. And challenged Ruby to lots of pointless fights of power! The male cats of the jungle longed for her position or respect from the other animals, for some strange reason Ruby frowned- she had no position- she was just herself. Shoving away the thought, she concentrated on holding her breath under the water; her maximum breath holding time was 6 hours and 30 seconds. She used to have breath-holding contests with the whales and dolphins. But when they migrated from the shore, she saw them no more. But she was just bothered. Ruby was still a child, with so many questions she wished to ask, but no one to answer them. She asked the animals, but they lacked thoughts of deep meaning. She wanted to know what the sky was, how far the water went, and most of all- if there were others like her on islands. She turned around under the water, her cloak floating up from her. She wrapped it around her and swirled around a bit. Her laughter translated into gurgles as it followed her, tiny air bubbles still streaming from the fabric. Then, she starred at the tiled ground. She saw A blue title in the corner. It was glowing blue, with beautiful carvings in it. She never seen it before; she lifted her hand near it and touched it. Then, curious, she pressed on its carvings. She heard a sound under the water and she gasped. It sounded like something crashed. She turned around, and on the other side of the wall, a door had opened up. Swimming towards it, she entered. The water was even warmer here. But the water was also much darker. She felt reedy things float against her feet- seaweed! But all the water was fresh water. She even saw a few tiny silver moon fish push against her body. It tickled and she giggled. Bubbles foamed from her mouth. Swimming upwards, she hit an air pocket, and she starred around. It was a hidden room. Maybe it was underneath the temple? Curious, but far from scared, she swam across the dark waters. She found a stone platform and stepped onto it. She then saw before her, a large wooden shutter. It had engravings on it, a light of sacred fire shone from behind it. Opening the door, she walked down the amethyst marble hall. Then the floor tiles turned to rose quartz further up, smooth and beautiful. She already liked this place- it seemed to be so filled up with feelings and ideas. And it wasnt too cold or too hot. It was just the right temp. She thought about sleeping here from now on But she continued down the ancient hall, which was much livelier than a tomb, but just as imaginary in idea. She thought of others, who once walked down these halls and if they all once thought her same thoughts of complexity. She wondered if her idea was true. If this really was a tomb She opened a mahogany shutter, and found an ancient room, still preserved. Fascinated, she ran into the room and looked around. She saw gold; jewelry and covers of silk and white furs lay on a rose quartz bed frame. She picked up the silk fabric, amazed. She had never seen anything like this. Keeping her eyes off the huge glass vase and table in the room, she was afraid of breaking them with her mind. Walking out of the beautiful room, she carefully closed the shutter door. Walking down the hall, an open hallway lead into a room with a grand table in the middle. Treasures of all kind decorated the room, from feminine jewelry to jeweled swords, which would catch the eyes and interest of an average mortal- but she ignored it all. This room had nothing of interest in it- to her atleast. She went out of the hallway and walked down dark stairs into a lair. Now this really caught Rubys attention. It seemed as if this all was a palace which went on and on into the ground. All types of treasures were stored in every room. What was this all about? Ruby didnt understand. She looked up on the wall and saw a large, full-scaled tile picture of the Halcyon Bird. This time, little pieces or tile, representing people, were below her, laying baskets and containers of yellow tile things. Ruby starred at the picture. Jewels were stuck to the yellow tiles in the wall tile baskets. She starred behind her at a storeroom of gold and jewelry. Oh yes! All this stuff mustve been for the Halcyon Bird! But Ruby didnt get whyd the Halcyon bird herself would need it. Ruby bent down and picked up a gold chain on the floor, hoping to find any importance in it. She just starred at it blankly. She found no excitement in it- except that it was shiny. It amused her a bit, for only a few seconds. To her, it was the same as picking up a wet rock- the wetness dried off and was no longer shinny. In her mind, it seemed as if the chain did the same She then tried to use her imagination. She pretended the chain was alive, and moved it like it was a snake. She got the same effect as if she was playing with a blade of grass. She dropped it back on the floor as jeweled rings caught on her toes. She tripped on a bracelet and was soon trapped in chains and jewelry. Bah! (Annoying!) Ruby yelled, grabbing the stuff off her. She then got up and laughed. Walking down the hall, she came to a large stone statue. Here again, was the Halcyon Bird. Hyou. (Hi.) Ruby greeted it. Its stone figure stood still. She laughed and climbed on top of it- acting crazy. Placing her foot on its back, it suddenly tilted and dropped her off. The statue crashed to the floor and stone pieces flew everywhere. Ruby gasped. She broke the statue! She looked at the pieces. It was gonna take a lot of sap to piece it all together. Holding her head in frustration, she noticed that something glared among the pieces. It was a large, extremely chipped crystal, with no actual cut shape. Tied around its crevices, was a crude string. Curious, Ruby picked it up. A shrill noise filled her head and Ruby collapsed. Ruby looked around at the surroundings. There were only white, blank walls around her. But she felt the mist again, and a warm breeze swept against her face. Mom? She asked, her voice almost gone. But a different feeling came. A voice came from around her. It was also a clear feeling. Ruby listened to it. It was telling her something. The feeling told her about her power. Abundant power It told her she was in danger. Danger that she needed a chakra to balance her power or it might break loose and cause terror The strongest power she possessed Ruby thought of it. She told it the strongest power was the Raijan Ko Ano attack. The voice told her that she possessed much more power, and if not managed properly, it couldnt destroy ... kill, without intention. Ruby gasped, the mist pressing against her face. She did not want to kill again. She told it that. Relaxing her mind, the light shimmered in the ghostly mist, as it became thicker. It would teach her things, tell her all the things she needed. It told her that her destiny was beginning, and that it couldn't guarantee she wouldn't have to kill again. That the death of the Guapda was necessary, and that some deaths are unavoidable. It asked her only to let it guide her, and harness her inner corruption. Ruby agreed to have it be her chakra Ruby woke up, among the pieces of the broken statue. The necklace was now around her neck, only now the crude string was replaced by a silver chain, and the chipped raw crystal was an ravishing diamond-cut emerald. Huh? Are you? Ruby began. It glowed in response. She felt it. Then now You will answer my questions? She asked it. It glowed again and moved. The light disappeared in it. Ruby let out a sigh. Walking down the hallways, she decided it was time for the nighttime rite. Diving into the dark pool of water, she followed the light at the entrance of the temple. Hio ko yahjan, eiya, mm, heh. Ruby chanted, tossing the rainbow dust of grinded shells into the fire. It flamed up in a gigantic green flame and sparks of clear glitter, and it began to swirl in a circular motion. Ruby starred at it. Her chakra lifted upwards and pointed near the fire. The chakra began ~Years passed, and the world was destroyed. Destroyed by the attempts of one another. Evil more destructive than the Guapda.~ (Ruby listened to the feeling, but didnt understand.) Evil. What is it? Ruby asked. ~Evil: Causing or threatening distress or harm with intention.~ ~Others of the same kind develop this feeling by the effect of other feelings: Hate, envy, and greed. Occasionally love.~ Hate Envy But Love? Friendship? Ruby asked, her mind swirling in the feelings. ~No. It is called love. When one has intense feelings for another. The passion and possessive need for another. When one becomes attracted to another because of their strengths, personality, soul, appearance, and weakness.~ Ruby shifted her head. I dont understand Ruby replied, lost in confusion. ~Even the simplest of beings feel it. Even the animals know it. Why not you?~ Ruby felt extremely degraded by the chakra, like it was mocking her naivety. I Dont know or need love! I just know and need friendship. Friendship is all I need. Ruby replied, folding her eyes and pouting. ~And what if another presented love to you? How would you respond?~ I dont know! Ruby replied. ~Shall I demonstrate the feeling?~ You can do that? Ruby asked, amazed. ~I am a vast bank of knowledge of the world and universe. One who learns from time- from which time is always learning. You ready?~ I guess. Ruby replied. ~It is only an illusion. But if you have made your heart able to love and except love, the image will be pure, love will be beautiful, and you will see your soul mate. If your heart is abusive and greedy, and your heart can never be loved, an image of all your future despairs and victims of your love will appear. You make the decision of your heart. Are you scared?~ Me- scared? I am fearless! Ruby proclaimed. Really? the voice echoed. The kind and gentle feeling of the chakra then disappeared. Ruby was alone in a dark and cold room... Hello? Ruby whispered. She walked around the room and her heart beat throbbed. She stood still. She felt something behind her. Something was looking at her. She turned around. And out of the darkness- a monster. Ruby became aware of who she was, she stepped back. The emotions of the room swirled in her mind, her head twisted in confusion, she wanted to hurl! The feelings were disturbing. Bad! She wanted to run away! Alright! That's enough! Ruby yelled, covering her head. Chains wrapped around her arms and legs. She tried to break from them but she was dragged closer to the monster. It growled as it opened its mouth. It was ready to eat her. Ruby kicked and screamed, but all her power was gone, she was defenseless. Nooooo! Keep it away! CHAKRA! Ruby yelled at the top of her lungs. She did not like this thing called love! It was terrifying! It was harmful in the way it presented it self! She felt that any being that lived with this would live everyday of their life in fear and terror. -And she felt her own weakness! It scared her. Ruby burst into tears as they fell against the rooms cold ground. Obah! Obah! No che! (Very bad! Terrible! Not beautiful!) Ruby yelled, screaming and kicking. I do not like love! Stop it stop it, this isn't funny! Do something! Ruby yelled, still screaming. The feeling was gone She opened her eyes. She smiled in relief, as the light and mist returned to normal. ~Your heart It presents love to you in a strange way It is as unknowledgeable, pure and defenseless as a childs Only a child would have that image And your imagination How is it possible at such a susceptible age?~ Ruby listened to the feeling of the voice; she frowned when it told her that her heart was defenseless. She didnt agree. She thought her heart was very strong- along with her lungs and muscles. Teach me other things than love, don't talk about it anymore! Ruby replied. ~Then I will teach you the significance of life.~ Ruby laughed. ~What is so funny? ~ Its not a significance. Its an accomplishment. Have you ever heard of reincarnation? Ruby asked. ~ I have heard my past wearers think of it in their minds. But you seem to hold it strongly~ Exactly. I want to learn everything in this life, help the most beings I can, and achieve the next step. Ruby replied. ~How are you so sure it goes that way?~ Because I am. Thered no risk in becoming the greatest you can and go to the point where you can do anything. Ruby replied. ~ I see I have much to learn from you. But suppose if I taught you everything? ~ Sure! Ruby laughed, clapping her hands together Ruby sat on the hill, the wind was warmer now and it blew around her thick burgundy dreadlocks. The dark sky twinkled with lit stars and the moon shone on the ocean like on the surface of a warped mirror. The metal cuffs binding her dreadlocks clanged against one another like a wind chime. She was learning all the languages of the world. She was learning poetry, stories, and feelings of happiness, sadness, the world of the nature around her. She learned about herself. She learned about her mind. She opened her eyes. Everything connected together. Her head throbbed as she lay down. Yes, this chakra told her everything. But it told her everything all at once. It was a mental maze. But its voice was strong and clear, parental, and it gave Ruby self-assurance in her self. It was something who could answer her questions. But she didnt understand how it could balance her powers Confused, she laid down and sleep overcame her. |
