This is a full length, heavy wool cloak that I made for my friend a couple years ago. It is made of black coating wool which I semi-fulled by washing it in the washing machine and then briefly drying it on air fluff. It is lined in a heavy polyester changeable satin. I actually used the wrong side of the material so that it wouldn't be so bright red on the inside of the cloak. It came out a beautifully muted red/black color that is impossible to see in these scans. It is fitted over the shoulders, and is about a 3/4 circle in fullness with a nice deep hood, and a pewter clasp to close.

Check cloak and re-pin side where it has stretched on bias

Work on other faire sewing projects

Check cloak and re-pin other side where it has stretched on bias

Continue to work on other sewing

Check cloak and decide that it looks good

Turn cloak other side out, and see all the places where it needs to be re-pinned

Re-pin cloak all around where it is off

Have lunch

Check cloak and re-pin on side where it has stretched on bias...............
  I think you get the picture. That went on for a few days, until it finally stopped stretching and I was able to hem it into place. It really looked good when I was finished though, and I was happy that I had taken my time to make sure the lining and outer fabrics were playing nicely together.
   As a side not, my friend is very tall, and when we went to the movies a few nights later, a small boy stopped as we passed his family. I could see him watch my friend walk past with her cloak on and hood up, and then turn to his dad with open mouth and ask, "Dad was that Darth Vader?"
