Music
Blink 182 |
Music is one of the greatest loves of most people's lives. My opinion is that you should appreciate all different types of music no matter what they are or who listens to them. Many people will refuse to listen to certain types of music because of the stereotype it gives you. Music is something that you use to access an emotion. If you are going on a night out, for example, you may choose to listen to something upbeat so that you feel happy and ready for the night. If you are feeling depressed you will put music on that is slow with sad lyrics so you can fully access the emotion. Those people who can't accept all types of music are normally people who are not fully at ease with people stereotyping them and those who stereotype others for their choice of music are simply morons. I try to enjoy all music and on the whole I can enjoy with ease every single type of music unless you reach the extremes of the genre. |
| My number one song of all time is the theme of the film "Three Men and a Little Lady", Boy Meets Girl - Waiting for a star to fall. From all the way back in 1988 this song reminds me heavily of some of my early childhood memories and it is a song that makes access a range of emotions very easy for me. Recently remixed by Cabin Crew and to a much better extent, Sunset Strippers. "Falling Star" became an instant hit in the UK reviving the original song which you will now hear being played much more. My early childhood memories of music include Bryan Adams - Everything I Do, Jason Donovan - Too Many Broken Hearts In The World, Erasure - Stop, Black Box - Ride On Time, Jefferson Starship - We Built This City, Belinda Carlisle - Heaven is a Place On Earth and Go West - We Close Our Eyes. During my time at school I have listened to every type of music possible, from Enrique Iglesias to Ja Rule. from Metallica to 5ive, from Aqua to Michael Jackson, from Vengaboys to Greenday. Despite all this my two favourite bands are Reel Big Fish and Blink 182 by a distance. I have been to see Reel Big Fish perform in Manchester and went in December 2004 to see Blink 182 play in Glasgow. Both were fantastic live, especially Reel Big Fish but this is possibly because the venue was very small, and I would recommend both bands to anyone. |
