Dedications

This page will be totally devoted to those who sadly can't be with us anymore. This page is always going to be under construction as I will always be adding more and more people to the list who have in some way affected my life or the lives of people around me.

Dermot Morgan (1952 - 1998)

One of the greatest comedians who ever lived. Dermot Morgan brought happiness to many, including myself, and will be mainly remembered for his role as Father Ted in the television series of the same name. Dermot died on 28th February 1998 from a sudden heart attack after a party to celebrate the end of filming the final "Father Ted" episode.

Richard Whiteley (1943 - 2005)

The face of Channel 4, Richard Whiteley, passed away on 26th June 2005 after suffering from a long illness. Richard was a well known television personality and best known for Channel Four's first and longest running program, Countdown, which began at the end of 1982. He was loved by everyone who met him and watched the show. Richard was best known for his colourful collection of ties and jackets and received an OBE from the queen in 2004. Fabio Casartelli (1970 - 1995)

During stage 15 of the Tour de France, on 18th July 1995, Fabio Casartelli crashed on the descent of Col de Portet d'Aspet and was tragically killed. On that fateful day two riders fell in front of Casartelli causing him to be thrown from his bicycle and strike his head on a concrete slab at the edge of the road designed to stop cars from sliding off the road. It is believed that if Casartelli had been wearing a helmet it would have most likely saved his life. Later on the same tour Lance Armstrong won a stage and dedicated it to his old team mate, Casartelli.
