Blackpool Pleasure Beach
Here is a description of just some of the rides that Blackpool Pleasure Beach has/had to offer. These are the main rides that I thought were the best ones when I visited recently. Blackpool Pleasure Beach is my favourite theme park as it has a large number of rollercoaster and good quality rides in a very small area and queuing isn't normally a problem, even at the height of summer.

The Pepsi Max Big One is the signature ride of the Pleasure Beach. By day it's a scary towering monster and by night a gorgeous lit up towering monster. The big one is one of the highest rollercoasters in the world. As you are dragged up the huge slope by a giant chain you begin to see the whole of the park and then the whole of Blackpool before realising that you are only half way up! At the top the view is amazing but it's only a couple of seconds before you are suddenly looking down an insane slope which curves to the right as you go down. The speed is unbelievable and if there is any rain it feels like very small but equally very real rocks are hitting you, which is amazing. I have been on this ride somewhere around the fifty mark now and it still remains one of the best i have ever been on. |

| Irn-Bru Revolution. Simple yet effective. This rollercoaster simply goes from one high up platform through a loop to the other high up platform, and then after a short wait back through the loop to your starting point. It doesn't sound very scary to me or even look too bad, but when your on it and you start to go backwards and all of a sudden drop downwards before being thrown back up through the loop, it will make you brown yourself a small amount. The adrenalin is short yet effective. This ride will really get you going if you are not already bouncing from other rides. I find the stairwell up to the ride to be a nightmare in itself, especially if it's been raining and those slippery wooden steps are soaking! | |

| Can you really beat a wooden rollercoaster? Expecially The Grand National? The Grand National is a world known rollercoaster. It will supply you with almost anything you want. The thrill of a rollercoaster combined with the joy you can have by racing another rollercoaster next to you. This is a one of a kind rollercoaster, truly unique. I went on this on my last visit a good few times, over and over again. It's amazing just how much weight can effect the speed of a rollercoaster but it really does. We managed to get as many people onto our train as possible with the other one half empty and managed to win the race by a country mile. An absolutely, truly special ride. A must for every fairground maniac. | Big Dipper is a classic wooden rollercoaster. With the classic cushioned seating and constant ups and downs, nothing can beat a wooden rollercoaster. The Big Dipper comes close to the awesomeness that is the Grand National but just can't get close enough. |

| Avalanche resembles a bobsled, a rollercoaster not on rails, totally free to move about it's route. Avalanche is great to go on while your there as there isn't many rollercoasters around of it's type. Not too fast or sickening unless you are the one sat at the back with someone between your legs as that can really harm you! | Ice Blast (former name, Playstation) is a simple sit down and be shot up into the air ride. Easy to keep going round and round for more goes on this ride when the queue is small or none existant. If you ever get the chance to go on this ride you should try to keep your hands and legs out through out the entire ride. It is possible to do but most people panic last second and pull their hands in and grab the handles! |

| Log Flume is a permanent feature of every theme park. This Log Flume is just as good as any other one. Warning about this ride is you will get extremely wet, especially if you are at the back of a full boat and everyone moves out of the way. | Valhalla is the other water ride at Blackpool Pleasure Beach. This is one of the main attractions and when you go on it you can see why. You travel on a viking ship through different indoor displays. This is combined with getting severely wet after being sent down a good few drops. |

| One of the newest rides in Blackpool Pleasure Beach, Spin Doctor. This attractions appears to be average height and when you watch the two arms rotate it seems to be nothing special but when you are on it, your opinion changes. I got to experience this ride when it broke down with me and Tom trapped at the top of the ride in cold conditions with the wind blowing severly! | Space Invader 2 is the indoor rollercoaster that this theme park has to offer. A very good rollercoaster that seems to be over in just a few seconds. Don't stand up though as I believe a young lad did once and while the himself and the car got round his head was left somewhere behind. |

| WIld Mouse merely a small compact rollercoaster with the cars in the shape of mice. Two can go in each car, one in between the legs of the other. Although I must warn that if you are the one at the back you will be heavily damaged at the end. Saying that even at the front or on your own you will end up having one side of your body totally bruised. You may regret this ride. | Steepchase is a ride that is meant to simulate a horse race. Well, I've never been in a horse race before but if it's as painful as this race I don't want to be. Sat on a horse and strapped in my only a seat beat. This ride will in no way make you feel safe. Bumpy in parts, I normally try to avoid this ride at all costs. |
