One Act

As an angel I walked before you

And gave you visions of heaven

Not once could you pull them out of your head

And kept on chasing the dreams.

But I was blinded by a boy

And could not see the man inside

Until you opened the angelŐs eyes

And came in and captured her heart.

But with the black-caped tragedy

Came the peace that crumbled

And you turned away from the angel,

So you turned away from yourself.

The masked pain bearer you became

Created pain anew.

You who once saw gold left her

For a power that buried you beneath.

And yet through all the change,

Her heart she always gave,

For you kept what you had captured hidden well.

And in a flurried blaze,

The end had near well come.

You saw the angel smiling and remembered.

Remembered the funny boy, the vow that you made.

And that day you finally lived,

For your pain had made you dead.
