About Gon:
Gon is a twelve year old kid who was raised on whale island by his aunt Mito. He has no memory of his parent and believes them to be dead. One day a stranger saves him from a savage animal. The stranger introduces himself as Kaito, a "hunter".
It turns out that Kaito went to get some info about his father Jin, "one of the best hunter around who just happens to be Gons father. Gon finds out that his father is still alive, this inspires hime to become a hunter and meet his father.
Gons character:
Gon is friendly and naive. This innocence charmed many characters in the series like Kurapica, Leorio and even Killua, who just like the opposite of him. Aside from being innocent. Gon also has an attitude of being stubborn. Gon never gives up in a battle even when he thinks he would lose. Another distinct talent of Gon is having an extroardinary sense of smell, taste and hearing since he was raised up in an island. Gon has the ability to sense the weather. Whether its going to have tornadoes or thunderstorms. He is able to sense it because he has the potential of being a hunter.
Gon has aided his friends through many tough obstacles during the hunter exam. Gon has another remarkable talent, being able to talk to or be friended with animals easily.

So far Gon has mastered the fundamentals of Nen, but he is learning quickly and has much untapped potential. Belonging to the "Kyouka" ( strength ). Gon needs to concentrate fine- tuning his nen to co-ordinate with his fighting style.
