Ron Lipton received a film credit as the "Senior Boxing Consultant" for the 2 hour film "Muhammad Ali, The Whole Story" on the TNT network, as well as for the 6-videotape series by the same name.

He received the Audelco Award for the Best Boxing Choreography for the New York Play "Ali."  Geoffrey Ewing, who played Ali, won the Obie for his portrayal of Ali.  The NY Times, Daily News, NY Post, and the NY Amsterdam News all praised the choreography.

Praise for Lipton's choreography of the off-Broadway production.

Another favorable review for Lipton's choreography.

Lipton's other pupil, David Roberson, who worked with director Michael Mann in "The Insider," played Ali so well under Lipton's tutelage that Ali himself said,  "Lipton's boxing direction was perfect" when he saw the play "Ali" in New York.

Ferdie Percheco, Ali's fight doctor, also said the character Ron Lipton created was uncanny, it gave him chills seeing the resemblence to Ali in the boxing.

Angelo Dundee, the chief cornerman for Ali's fights, said, "If I cannot answer a boxing question I
call Ron Lipton for the answer," live on WTZA-RNN news with announcer Joe Amato.
