Born Belizean and raised Guatemalan, this biligual (Spanish and English) PADI certified guide will love to show you and your family some of the best underwater wonders that Belize Barrier Reef has to offer, and will go the extra miles to ensure your safety. And with his great sense of humor he will entertain you with endless laughters, and will make sure you leave Belize with the most amazing memory.
Who is Ruben?
The first time you see him you may try to guess his age: 25? 30? or 35 in seven years? Ruben moved to Ambergris Caye in 1993 hoping to pursue better work opportunites, not knowing that scuba diving would become his career in which he also ended up being one of the best scuba instructors in Belize. Here he also met his wife and had their four handsome boys: Angel Estuardo, 8; Angel Adolfo, 7; Angel Jose, 5 and Angel Ernesto, 4.

Ruben has worked at some of the biggest dive shops in San Pedro, Ambergris Caye, like Amigos del Mar, Aqua Dives Belize, Ambergris Divers, Belize Ocean Diver, Belize Academy of Diving. With all his experience, ideas and dreams, he is now providing the best service ever.
Where the hell is Belize?
Belize is an English/multilingual country situated between Mexico, Guatemala and the Caribbean sea. It is surrounded by mountains, savannas, coral beaches, hundreds of islands or cayes (pronunced "keys"), and the largest Barrier Reef in the northern hemisphere, or the second longest in the world (wow!!).

Now you probably have some idea where Belize is, but where is San Pedro "la isla bonita"?
San Pedro
San Pedro "la isla bonita" (Madonna's hit) is a little town located in the middle of Ambergris Caye. Ambergris Caye is the largest of all cayes and is actually a continuation off the Yucatan Penninsula in Mexico. Here most dive sites are within 5 minutes boat drive from your hotel (or any hotel). The dive sites are marked with mouring buoys and the bottom formation is spouring finger canyons starting at 40feet/12meters. The average dive profile is 70feet/21meters for 40 minutes based on dive computer's mulitlevel dive. There are more than 40 different dive sites to chose from and one of them is the famous Marine Reserve Hol Chan and Shark Ray Alley which is only 10 minutes from shore.
How to get to Belize?
There are daily flights flying from Houston and Miami into Belize International Airport. San Pedro is about 58km northeast of Belize city and it is only 15 minute flight with breathtaking view from the International Airport, or 2 hour boat ride from the Belize City.
