Donated Duckies!

Duckie Quilt Raffle, a benefit for What's The Secret,
a program of Research Mental Health Services in Lee's Summit, Missouri

The following duckie quilts were donated to benefit the program. Donations
were accepted and the quilts raffled off. Donations will enable the program
to put volunteers in 65 schools to teach kindergarten through 2nd grade
students the "What's the Secret?" program. The program teaches children
about "good touch, bad touch and wrong touch". The program utilizes puppets
for demonstrations purposes and provides each child with a coloring book which
helps them retain the principles taught to keep them safe.

This past school year, 13,000 children received this training. Several
children disclosed that they were victims of sexual abuse and they received help.

The program is currently solely reliant upon donations to provide this
important program free of charge to the schools that request it.

Child abuse is prevalent in our community and we are determined to help
prevent future victims because we believe that

Healthy Children = Healthy Adults = Healthy Communities.

After some research, I've discovered that the first four quilts were
made using the same pattern that is in the following book:
More Quick Country Quilting by Debbie Mumm.
