| Charlie was adopted by William and Annie at a very young age, his real father Charles Kelly (Annie's brother) died while Charlie's mother was Kate McGonigle (from Clonmany) was 4 months pregnant. He got plueracy after lying on the grass after a soccer match at Maginn Park in Buncrana. Charlie married Rose McConway and had 10 children. He was an excellent musician and his band was famously known in Derry and beyond as the Charlie Kelly Ceili Band. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
