University Of Roorkee is now IIT-Roorkee.  ||  There is a bad news to be conveyed that Prof. N.C. Nigam, Former Vice Chancellor and thereafter the Chairman of All India Council for Technical Education left for his heavenly abode on 6th Feb. 2001  ||  UOR has a new Vice Chancellor - Dr. D.V. Singh.  Previously, Dr. Singh was a Professor in the Mechanical Engg. Dept. at UOR.
