Fri, 09 Feb 2001 05:27:12 -0000 Dear Friends, We did it! We made it around the world in one piece and are still happily married and the kids seem quite well adjusted. Fourteen countries, 69 moves, and 9 months without being in an English speaking country. The only problem is that we just can't stop! We have decided to continue our travels and after about a three week stay in the Seattle area we have headed on to warmer, drier climates. We will likely be passing through Oregon, California, and Arizona, with some short stays in Mexico. We should be back in the Seattle area this summer around the fourth of July, preparing for Jessica to start first grade in September. It has been wonderful to be back in the good old US of A for many reasons, the most important of course is seeing family and friends. As one of Jessica's best friends likes to say, " New friends are silver, old friends are gold, both are wonderful treasures to hold." It has been much easier than expected returning to our home country, sort of like slipping on a pair of old comfortable shoes. The language is definitely easier! After attending Sunday school here, Nathan approached us and said excitedly, "Everyone speaks English here!". We have had some sticker shock, as prices here for most items are noticably higher than in the countries we visited. Since we still have no permanent residence address, the best way to stay in touch is through our e-mail address. We do have a mobile phone that will be with us while in the US, the number is 425-503-1405 Best wishes to you all, Ky, Bonnie, Jessica, Nathan (Redhead & Orangehead, our pet goldfish, are no longer with us as they are now permanent residents of Spain)
