Facts and figures information found here:

Grocery prices were found by Pat in Angola, Indianas
The Steuben Republican newspapers from 1935 and 1948, that are on microfiche at the Angola Carnegie Public Library. Angola is a typical small town like Sleepyside.  Mr. Blandings Builds His Dream House movie ad was also found in The Steuben Republican during 1948 as being shown at The Strand Theater in Angola. For Moms sake, well assume it was also shown at The Cameo in Sleepyside. The Buick car ad Dan remarks about was also in The Steuben Republican as were the clothing ads Moms was looking at.

Other things mentioned were either found in the 1948
The Steuben Republican or at one of the 1948 information web sites listed below and we wrote them into our story.

In digging into one of the sites for
Candid Camera, it said it was originally called Candid Microphone on radio and on TV when it was shown on ABC during 1948.  The name was changed to Candid Camera in 1949 when NBC picked it up. Another site just calls it Candid Camera while on TV.  Since its 1948 in our story, weve gone with Candid Microphone, but we have Mart using their famous saying.

Fake ads were made by Tracy in PSP 10 based upon the ads Pat found at the library. After an extensive search for retro clip art (and being terrified of using anything that we could possibly get into trouble for), free clipart was obtained from the following sites:

Happy 8th Jixaversary, Cathy and Happy 60th Anniversary to the first printing of Trixie Belden books.

Thanks so much, Tracy for asking me to join in on your Jixaversary project.  Ive had a ball working with you and its been an honor helping you write the story.  Thanks again, Kookie.  Love, Pat
P.S. KOOKIE, YOUR GRAPHICS AND WORK ON THE SITE ROCK!!! (((clap clap clap)))

Thank you, Pat! Helping me write? Pat wrote the entire story except for Diana's fashion ramblings. If left to me alone this would have been a hodgepodge of facts, certainly not a whole story! YOU ROCK, KOOKIE!! Love, Tracy

A BIG thanks to AprilW for her wonderful editing for us. (((hug)))

The Bob-Whites and other characters from the Trixie Belden books series do not belong to us.  We are not making any money.  They were not harmed in any way, and in fact, we even fed them supper. ((grin)) We are just borrowing them to help celebrate Jixemitris 8th Jixaversary as well as the 60th Anniversary of the first Trixie Belden book.

We dont have permission to use any of the brand name items either, but they are getting some free advertising from us.

We have tried to be as accurate as possible in our research and any mistakes made are completely ours and certainly inadvertent.
