MEET THE COACHES

Mrs. Mary Mountz:

This will be Coach Mary's 10th year coaching and 7th year as Cheerleading Coordinator. Mary has coached some of the competition girls since they were 7. It's amazing to watch how these little girls have grown into talented young ladies. Coach Mary teaches the girls to have fun while working together as a team. Coach Mary and Coach Kathy get into the spirit as much as the girls do, sometimes even more.

The advice that Coach Mary would like to give to the girls is: "Teamwork is Key. Attitude is everything. Hard work is essential, but your smile pulls it all together."

Ms. Heather Young:

This is Coach Heather's 5th year coaching. She cheered for Penncrest for 3 years and was a Varstiy member for 2 years. She graduated from Millersville University this past May with an Elementary Education and Middle School Math certification with a minor in Spanish. She is now a building substitute for Springton Lake Middle School along with their cheerleading coach. She coached for the Penn Manor Junior Comets (a local team near Millersville University) for 2 years and this is her 3rd year with the Colts. She has led the Colts Junior squad to two first place victories.

Heather's advice is: "Cheer as hard as you can, be the best you can at what you do. Because remember if you don't think you're good, there's always a little girl looking up to you thinking she wants to be like you."

Mrs. Kathy Moore:

Coach Kathy is starting her 8th year coaching for the Colts. It is not unusual to see Coach Kathy & Coach Mary cheering with the squad. Especially when "their boys" are playing a good game. Competition is the icing on the cake. Coach Kathy is known to yell a lot, but please don't let that scare you. She will yell and then she will smile right back.

Her advice is: "1) have fun , 2) always smile, 3) keep your arms tight, 4) remember that you are part of a team, 5) ALWAYS LISTEN TO THE COACHES."
