RIMPA

This is a type pf ikebana that is based on the highly decorative works of the Rimpa School,
which flourished during the Edo Period in Japan. The goal is to capture
the decorative qualities of materials and the overall design effects typical of Rimpa works of art.
For the most part, materials used are those found in Rimpa paintings.
Mastery of the Rimpa Arrangement depends on knowledge and study of the original works of the Rimpa artists.
Material: Osmend Shoot, Reeves Spirea, Camelia

The Rimpa Arrangement is composed within the shape of the fan frame. Arrange stems of Osmend Shoot as main tree group to establish the basic framework. Place Osmend Shoot of various length high and low to evoke a charming sense of elegance. As branches of Spirea are used to emphasize the height of the Osmend Shoot, trim them carefully to remove excessive or inelegant offshoots. Position the bright Camelia low and give flowers different direction as an accent for its color and shape.
