Individual Note:
      He was born April 22, 1922, in Waynesburg, a son of William H. Wise of Wi nd
Ridge R.D.1 and the late Elizabeth Kern Wise. He graduated from Washingt on
High School in 1945, attended Waynesburg College for two years, and gradua ted
from Penn Commercial College in Washington.

Mr. Wise, who resided in Waynesburg for most of life, was employed in
the circulation department at the Democrat Messenger for 17 years. He
later worked for Hanover Shoe Co. and as a custodian at the Est Franklin
School.

Her served in the army during World War II.

He was a member of the Washington Street United Methodist church and w as a
former member of the Waynesburg I.O.O.F. Lodge.

Surviving in addition to his father are his wife, Jeanette SANTEE Wise,
who he married June 28, 1949; a daughter, Mrs. Ricky Lee (Jana) Bryn
Benwood Hills, W.Va; two grandchildren Gina Lee Santucci and Frank Micha el
Santucci; six brothers, Donald F. and Edward L. Wise, both o Washington,
Allen Wise of Palatka, Fla., Gerald L. Wise of Fairborn, Ohio and Robe rt L.
and James E. Wise both of Bulger; and three sisters, Mrs. Olive Hann
Washington, Mrs. Dorothy Raber of Streetsboro, Ohio and Wilma E. Wise of
Wind Ridge.

WISE--Friends of John William Wise of 195 South West Street, Waynesburg,
who died Wednesday, November 30, 1983, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m.
Thursday and 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p. m Friday in the Behm Funeral
Home Inc. 182 West

High Street, Waynesburg, where services will be conducted at 1 p.m Saturda y,
December 3, by the Rev. Ralph W. Brownfield. Interment in Fairview Cemeter y,
Wind Ridge.

CORRECTION

In the obituary of John Wise published in Thursday's edition, the nam es of
a deceased brother, Raymond, and a deceased sister, Mrs. Ruth Johnston, we re
omitted.
