His last Will

In the name of God amen I Cuthbert Abell of Saint Mary's County in the Sta te of Maryland being Sick and weak of body but of Sound Sence and memory t hanks be to God for the Same Caling to mind the uncertainty of this life a nd that all flesh must yield unto death whenever it Shall Seem good unto a lmighty God make and ordain this my last will and Testament in manner a nd form following ~~~ Item First I give and bequeath unto my three childr en Matthew Abell/ Francis Abell & Mary Abell all the Land I now posse ss to be equally divided between them agreeably to quantity and quali ty to them and their heirs forever. Item I give to my wife Mary Milbu rn a negro woman named Beck and one negro Child named Sarah to her and h er heirs forever. Item I give to my Son Matthew Abell one Negro boy nam ed Tom by the name of big Tom and one negro girl named Fanny to him an h is heirs forever ~~ Item I give to my Son Francis Abell one negro boy nam ed Theophilus and one negro girl named Trecy to him and his heirs forev er ~~ Item I give to my daughter Mary Simmonds Abell one negro boy named l ittle Tom and Twenty pounds current money to her and her heirs forev er in case I have not money enough after my debts is paid my will is my t wo Sons Shall pay her Ten pounds each ~~~ Item I give unto my three childr en Matthew Abell, Francis Abell & Mary Simmonds Abell the remaind er of my Estate to be equally divided them all after my wifes thirds is ta ken out ~~~ Lastly I Constitute nominate and appoint my wife Mary Milbu rn Abell, Matthew, (blotted) Simmonds & Francis Abell Executors of th is my last will & Testament In witness whereof I have hereunto Set my ha nd & affixed my Seal this thirteenth day of November in the year of our Lo rd one thousand Seven hundred and Ninety four.

Hayden Eugene Wise, 92, of Lebanon Junction, died Thursday, Sept. 5, 200 2, at
Camelot Health Care in Louisville.

A native of Stithton, he was a former carpenter for the Mac Construction C o. in
Lebanon Junction and a member of St. Benedict Catholic Church in Lebanon J unction.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Agnes Sweat Wise.

Survivors include five daughters, Mary Ann Hubbard, Regina Mitchell and Ro sie Wise,
all of Lebanon Junction, Terri Van Der Spuy of Louisville and Betty Shepa rd
of Boston, KY.; and Betty Shepard of Boston, KY; five sons, Charlie Euge ne Wise of
Doe Valley, Joseph Alonzo "Lonnie" Wise of Bardstown, Pat Wise of Bosto n, KY.,
Johnnie Wise of Corrales, N.M. and Michael Andrew "Moochie" Wise of Hillvi ew; 15
grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

The funeral was Saturday at St. Benedict Catholic Church in Lebanon Juncti on
with the Rev. Mike Tobin, the Rev. Ron Knott and the Rev. Jim Graff offici ating.
Burial was in St. Clare Catholic Cemetery in Colesburg.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to St. Clare Ce metery
Fund.

Kappel Funeral Home in Lebanon Junction was in charge of arrangements.
