You are being scammed when:
-YOU FIND A SITE THAT SAYS THEY CAN HACK YOUR CHARACTER! 100% OF THESE SITES ARE SCAMS! Runescape runs through Java and therefore cannot be hacked!
-Someone offers to upgrade your armour.
There is no such thing.
-Someone gives you their character. They want you to put your items on the char and take it back with recovery questions.
-Someone tells you they can duplicate your item if you drop it or give it to them. Never press CTRL-F4 if you've dropped an item. This will close the game and you wil lose your item.
-Someone offers you an item if you follow them into the wilderness.
-Someone asks you to marry them! This is odd but it actually happens. They usually want free stuff.
-If someone tells you they will make you armour if you give them bars. Don't worry if they are bronze, but if they are rune, addy, mith, etc. it's probably a scam.
-The needle or fish bait scam are common now. Make sure your getting 10 million or over, not 1 million and 2 fish baits!
