| View of Jockey's Ridge before sunset. On the day before we left, we decided to view the last sunset atop Jockey's Ridge. Jockey's Ridge is the largest sand dune in the eastern U.S. Each year it moves a couple of feet southeast. It eventually engulfed a mini-golf course a couple of decades ago. Some of the holes can still be seen. |
