Information Processing
This course is designed to review the fundamental skills of keyboarding.  The formatting skills taught are personal and business correspondence, tables, rough draft copies and reports using word processing software.     Course Topics
Computer Applications I
This course is designed to introduce students who wish to learn about common business software, such as the Microsoft programs of Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Publisher, and Word.  Students will learn how these programs are used in business and will also gain hands-on experience in using them.  Students who will be going to school after high school may find this course useful in learning how to use the computer and programs in their study.     Course Topics

This course is designed for students who wish to continue to learn about the advanced features of common business software, such as the Microsoft programs of Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint, Publisher, and Word.  Students will learn how these programs are integrated in business and will also gain hands-on experience in using them.

Business Law
This course deals with introducing the student to the basics of law and the legal system.  They will learn about the kinds of laws, history of the law, law enforcement and the court system, and the special laws involving minors and consumers.  Time will also be spent learning the basics of contract law and estate planning.  In addition, students will learn about the legal profession, how and when to get an attorney or how and in what instances you can be your own attorney.

Entrepreneurship
This one semester course will take the students step-by-step through the entire process of owning their own business.  Creating a business plan, identifying a market need, hiring and managing staff, and managing finances are covered.

Accounting I
Accounting covers the basic principles of keeping records for a single business.  It includes a study of the comlete accounting cycle using ledgers and journals.  It includes the study of the accounting procedures for sales tax, depreciation of a business, income tax, merchandising, loans, interest, partnerships and corporations.  Personal characteristics needed for sucessful work in accounting are average or better grades, ability to think logically, enjoy working with numbers, and the ability to complete each day's work on time.  This course is intended for students who intend to advance in the study of accounting or business in a specialized school or college.

Accounting II
This course is a continuation of Accounting I.  The principles covered are accounting for uncollectible accounts, loss or gain on plant assets, accrued items and cost records.  Also includes accounting for partnerships, corporations, and understanding the educational requirements and work of accounting employees.  This is especially helpful to students planning to advance in the study of accounting and/or business administration.

This is a semester course that will give students hands-on experience with computer software that creates web pages, animated graphics, movies, video, and multimedia presentations.

Personal Finance
Personal Finance is a basic course leading towards effective personal money management.  Decision-making and problem-solving skills in consumer education fields will be emphasized.  Some of the areas involved would include personal money management, banking services, consumer and installment credit, personal savings and investments, real estate alternatives, insurance, federal and state taxes, and consumer product awareness.  Although this course is designed for the academically average student, all students can benefit from this course.

Introduction to Business
This course acquaints the student with basic business concepts, including organization, management and marketing.  It takes a look at the business world as a consumer, a worker, and a tax-paying citizen.  This course gives capable students a substantial tryout to determine whether they wish to continue with courses in Business Education.  It also gives students with less capabilities the basic personal business functions needed for citizenship.    
Course Topics
Internship (Business/Information Management/Marketing Career Pathway)
This is a semester course designed to give students an awareness and some experience of occupations in this career pathway.  Also it is intended to help the student with his/her career and educational planning.

Students work for an employer for one semester, two consecutive periods each day, for the purpose of learning more about the work skills needed for jobs in that business or agency and related jobs.  Work place activities may include special projects, a sample of tasks from different jobs or tasks from a single occupation.

Only a limited number of students are selected for this course after the completion of an interview with the instructor.  Students need to supply their own transportation to and from the job site.
