Don't get me wrong. I'm not crazy. I just love talking to myself.
SUPERMAN Returns

Superman Returns is the most emotional Superman movie so far.

The Man of Steel  came back after his journey through space in search for his origin. He was emotionally challenged in finding out that Louise Lane is living with another man and has son of her own. The next conflict though is that King Luther, the villain, tried to devastate the world by growing crystal and kryptonite-based islands creating disturbance to the world balance. However, Superman was able to immunized himself from his fear and saved the world. Amen.

But this latest Superman movie is more focused on the relationship of Superman and Louise.  The neverending ups and downs of their love story and their unfinished business comprise a very matured story.

The movie is different from other Superman movies in how matured the the story and the scenes have become. This movie is full of dramatic moments which made it a-not-so-kiddie film. It was not presented to glaze the eyes of the young and young-at-heart Superman fanatics. It was created to present a more human, a more emotionally-contained  Superman.

The movie is trying to show "Superman saves the world but who will save him if worse comes to worst". In the story, love the one thing that gives him strength and the one that keeps him safe after all the odds.

I remembered The Passion of the Christ during the scene when Superman was weak and attacked by the bad guys. The scene was full of depression, frustration, anger, and helplessness. It was as if Superman is Jesus Christ the savior falling helplessly on his kness, wounded, and betrayed.

The exciting part of the movie though is Louise's son. The son would be the connecting factor to the unfinished business between Superman and Louise. Though not verbaly stated in the film, the kid turned out to be Superman's ultimate son.
