Diamonte

A diamonte is a poem that is used to show contrast between two objects.  The finished poem is shaped in a diamond and follows the structure below.

Line 1--1 word naming subject 1                                                                Cat
Line 2--2 adjectives describing subject 1                                              clever, cuddly
Line 3--3 -ing words telling about subject 1                              crouching, pouncing, purring
Line 4--2 nouns about subject 1, 2 about subject 2                      meow, feline, canine, bark
Line 5--3 -ing words telling about subject 2                                 running, sniffing, yelping
Line 6--2 adjectives describing subject 2                                            loveable, smart
Line 7--1 word naming subject 2                                                               Dog
