My Portfolio

I have made my portfolio very narrow in focus as I have targeted a very specific audience. My audience is the Humble Independent School District. I would like to teach at the upper elementary- or middle school level. Ideally, I would be in an elementary school as the computer teacher, but would also consider middle school technology positions. I would also consider math positions in a departmentalized elementary school or in a middle school.

            I tried to emphasize the strength of my education as well as maturity that comes with age. I have an understanding of the confusion that can come from new technologies and mathematic concepts. I remember how it was like a light bulb illuminating when a teacher would explain a concept in different ways so that I could understand it. The feeling of clarity when I realized that I understood was great. I would like to be able to see those light bulbs light for other students.

            I had thought about using a graphic of a student sitting at a computer smiling on the home page. I was not able to locate a graphic that was what I was looking for. I also coded a content rotator that wanted to try on the top of each page. I had wanted to run a stream of names of schools and mascots within the Humble ISD coded in the particular school colors. I did get the content rotator to work but only “onclick”, not as a steady stream. These items left me something to continue to work on.
