Murray, McGlade lead Kings to a 4-3 win over Kanata
Nathan Murray had 4 points (3goals 1assist) and Dave McGlade also had 4 points (4 assists), James Kirkwood had 2 points (2 assists), and Ryan Sullivan had 2 points (1 goal and 1 assists) in a 4-3 tournament game verus Kanata. With the win the Kings will face Nepean tomorrow (March 15) in a semifinal. The kings, who were a little short staffed came through and a GREAT effort was put forth in probably one of the best games of the year.Kanata started to scoring at 5:55 to go ahead 1-0. Ryan Sullivan put one past the goaler at 2:34 of the first to tie the game at 1. Dave McGlade and Nathan Murray got the assists. (hey sully you finally got one...haha the synergy works!!!). Then at 2:16 Nathan Murray scored the first of his three with assits going to Kirkwood and McGlade to give the Kings the lead 2-1. Kanata was quick with a reponse though because with 35 seconds left they scored to tie the game back up at 2 a peice. But 15 seconds later Nathan Murray would score his 2nd with assists from Sullivan ad McGlade to give the Kings a 3-2 lead. The Kings would strike first in the 3rd period with Murray's 3rd of the game Assists went to Kirkwood and McGlade. Kanata would score with 5:43 left but that wouldnt be enough as the Kings went on to win 4-3. The Kings also showed great dicipline as they only took 4 penalties to Kanata's 6. Also GREAT defensive play by Andrew Beuman and Chris Merkley helped the Kings shutdown the Kanata offence. Plus Beuman was a force on the power play with his boomin slapshot and Chris 'Tank' Merkley with his hipchecks that punish attacking Kanata players.

Expect more of the same tomorrow against Nepean
