~ Tuesday the 30th ~
Too Wet!

~ Monday the 29th ~
Day Off.

~ Sunday the 28th ~
Rode down to the Pony Club only to find out the Lloyd Rosser Memorial Day wasn't on!  It had been raining in the night and it just started to rain when we got there.

~ Saturday the 27th ~
Gave him the day off before the Lloyd Rosser Memorial Day.

~ Friday the 26th ~
I found one of my old saddles so I rode Red in that today.  Practised the dressage test and did some canter figure of eights.

~ Thursday the 25th ~
Didn't do very much as I had to ride bareback because I washed my saddle and it will take a few days to dry!  Just walked/trotted/cantered a little bit around the arena.  The best thing we did today was the last thing.  We went from canter to trot to walk to halt, all on the bit!  (Not many strides of trot and walk.)

~ Wednesday the 24th ~
Did same dressage as yesterday, but then we did some cantering figure of eights.  At first he was a little unsure but we just kept at it and he was soon only trotting a couple of strides to change leg.  Went for a walk down the road.

~ Tuesday the 23rd ~
Was going so well!!  He has been falling on the forehand so we did some turning when he did and that lightened the forehand.  He started to come on the bit!  We didn't do much because he was going extremely well!  Went down to the beach since it hadn't been very long and went for some canters.

~ Monday the 22nd ~
Day Off.

~ Sunday the 21st ~
Rode down to Pony Club.  We were walking on Medium Walk and the instructor hadn't seen anybody do it properly except us, maybe once (good luck?)  Well, we start doing a circle and the instructor said to me "You continue to surprise me" because we were doing a perfect Medium Walk!  We were the only ones who could do it properly without any coaching to get the horses up to it - a 4 year old!!  We did some trotting as well.  Practised the first few movements of the dressage test we are doing at the Lloyd Rosser Memorial Day.  We also did a little bit of flat work (walk and trot only - circle, change of rein, figure of eight).  My favourite part was doing a perfect trot to halt (square!)

~ Saturday the 20th ~
Wet Again!!

~ Friday the 19th ~
It was really muddy so we couldn't do much.  We worked on the trot to canter, canter to trot, trot to walk transitions, and he was going well!  We couldn't do much else so we worked on him giving with his head at the halt.  I would put pressure on the reins and he would bring his head down as though he was on the bit!  At first he needed alot of pressure but by the end he only needed a little!  We have zone game tryouts on Sunday, seven are trying out but only five can go - I hope we can!!

~ Thursday the 18th ~
Too Wet!

~ Wednesday the 17th ~
So muddy!  We practised trotting up the centreline, circles at trot/canter.  We did the test through once - because of the mud he trotted a little soon, we really need to work on the transitions!

~ Tuesday the 16th ~
We went down to the beach today.  That branch has gone so we couldn't jump.  We trotted/cantered back and there was this ditch where a dog had been digging, so I took him over it twice.  Perfect!  We went to the banks and went up and down those, then went back up to the sea and cantered along and back.

~ Monday the 15th ~
Day Off.

~ Sunday the 14th ~
Rode to Pony Club but we only did theory because the paddock and arena weren't suitable (due to rain) to ride in (and the arena is meant to have an "all weather surface"!)

~ Saturday the 13th ~
He was going very well!  We practised the dressage test - not that great on the transitions but by the end we had done everything perfect!  (Not the whole test through, just each movement.)

~ Friday the 12th ~
Weather not too good, we probably would have done some dressage if it was nice.  Will do some dressage tomorrow and Pony Club on Sunday.

~ Thursday the 11th ~
He wasn't going too good - not bending properly, breaking into canter alot and slow on transitions.  We practised Dressage Test P, the test we are doing at the Lloyd Rosser Memorial Day - he was perfect until the canter to trot transition, and wasn't that great for the rest of the test (the rest was on the right rein which he hadn't been going that great on).

~ Wednesday the 10th ~
The weather wasn't too good, so I just went out with his bridle and rode bareback in his paddock!  We just walked and trotted a bit but we didn't do much.

~ Tuesday the 9th ~
I was too busy to ride - up town passing my learners licence!  I will be pulling that horse float in no time!

~ Monday the 8th ~
Too Wet!  Found out there is a show on the 28th of September - "Lloyd Rosser Memorial Day".  It's all about the rider though, we have to ride a Dressage Test, Flatwork, Horsemanship, Games and Jumping.  There are also team games and dressage tryouts sometime - Games on the 5th of October and Dressage on the 16th of November.

~ Sunday the 7th ~
He was going ok but not great.  Maybe he needs a longer warm up because he gets better as we get more into our workout!  The best he does is the 20m canter circles, I just love it!  10m walk circles, 15m trot circles good.  Decreasing and increasing the circle going ok.  Serpentines going great!  I can really feel that change of bend and it's really nice!  Jumping going good, did the tyres but he wasn't really meeting the striding right so when I helped him he got it right!  I'm not quite sure on the height but I will measure them asap!  Did the barrels on the right striding and also the 65cm upright!  There is this fence - 60cm on the take-off and 65cm on the landing.  He kept refusing it, so we went and did it so the take-off was 65cm and the landing was 60cm - perfect!  Went and did it the other way and the first time he jumped it with his forelegs and stopped!  We got his hindlegs over and then tried again.  This time he just put one foreleg over so I had to dismount to help him get his foreleg back over.  The next (and last) two times, over!

~ Saturday the 6th ~
Went down the beach - walked, trotted and cantered up and then galloped occasionally back.  My legs are not strong enough to go the whole distance of Pohara!  I will have to work on that.

~ Friday the 5th ~
Day Off.

~ Thursday the 4th ~
It was fine today but I didn't ride because of my wrist.

~ Wednesday the 3rd ~
Wet again!  I hate this weather!!

~ Tuesday the 2nd ~
We went to the beach to do our work as our paddock is really sloppy.  In our work-in when we were trotting, he put his foot down a hole where a fence-post had been and fell!  I tumbled over his neck, and sprained my wrist!  (Not too bad, I could still ride.)  He could have broken his leg!!  He was fine so we carried on.  Walked, trotted, cantered circles and then did some large circles to try and get him on the bit.  He softened on each rein really well so I tried again on each rein and he wouldn't do it!  My arms were getting really sore so I stopped when he softened the tiniest bit, not like last time.  (I think I should carry sugar with me to give him as a reward!)
