1967 Porsche 911T (Targa) |
This is a Porsche 911T that we came across here. It was being sold for a very good price and the body looked solid enough and there were new lenses and rubber. The bad thing about this car that the original engine was removed in place of the much dreaded Porsche 2.7L engine which has many problems according to many websites I had visited and according to Excellence Magazine. It was said that if you can avoid this engine AVOID it. It had weak head bolts, bad pistons, bad connecting rods, etc. Also after checking the VIN something weird was revealed. It showed that the car was a Porsche Karmann Coupe and not a 911T (Targa)! Also, it was a 1973 model. I e-mailed someone who is an expert in Porsches and he said that it might have been a conversion and was told to look at some key point to recognize it as a conversion. After looking at it again it showed no signs of conversion. He then told me that it might have benn stolen and the VIN changed. This car was then exported to us. So we that and the engine, even if 911s are my dream cars, we walked away. Hope you like the pictures. |
