Hello, and welcome to rules page for #trivia at irc.chat-addict.net. This page was made to list out the basic rules for the room. Although rules are nasty things to deal with, sadly they need to be made and said so that we can all have a fun time playing the trivia.

Thanks to Cruiser, we now have the trivia games alongside "Hangman" that Dweeb has already. Asterisk, the bot that was formally running trivia, is currently, well, homeless (ie, I don't have a box for it at the moment -____-), so she will only run when Dweeb is for some reason gone.
Important Notices
* Do not come into the room looking for a Tip.it staff member. This server is also used by Tip.it, a fansite for the game RuneScape by Jagex Ltd. If you have been banned from their room, #trivia is not a ban appeal/discussions room for their #runescape and #arenascape rooms. Any ban appeals/discussions regarding the Tip.it community will result in an automatic kick from the room, worst case scenerio being put on the automatic-kick list.
* If you must contact Tip.it staff, use their ban appeals/account problems link. If you are banned from the server, you need to contact the Chat-Addict staff through their Help Desk.
General Room Rules
1. No excessive swearing.
2. No excessive use of colours, bold, underlines, etc.
3. No excessive use of scripts you may have.
4. No flooding.
5. No asking for voice (+), channel half-op (%), channel operator (@), protected (&), or channel founder (~) status.
6. Do not bring other bots into the room unless given permission by the channel founder or one of the operators. If you do bring a bot, you must set its user mode to +B (/mode NAME +B) or it will be seen as cloning by the server staff. Cloning is not allowed on the server.
7. If you have any questions, please ask before sending a private message to a channel operator or channel founder. It is a server rule to ask permission of the person you want to speak to to send a private message.
Trivia Game Rules
1. Play maturely. Do not spam the room if you miss a question, start screaming obscenities, etc.
2. No cheating! This includes using Google or any other web-search engines to look up the answer. If you are suspected of cheating, you may find your score reset to zero. Further offenses will result in a ban from the room.
3. Do not play alone. If caught, your score will be reset to zero.
4. Do not send a private message to the bots. If there is a problem with one the questions, or if you have any questions/comments/suggestions, inform one of the channel operators so that they can tell the channel founder, or tell the channel founder (after asking permission to send a private message).
5. This room is meant to be fun. If you decide to be mean about it and ruin everyone else's fun, you can be sure consequences will follow.
Basic Trivia Commands
!trivia Starts the trivia game. If you put a number next to trivia, the game will last that number of questions. Example, !trivia 50 means the game will go on for 50 questions.
!strivia Stops the trivia game
!pause Pauses the trivia game
!hof scores|time|streak|wpm day|week|month|year|total Lists Top 10 High Scores/Time/Streak/Words Per Minute for the Day|Week|Month|Year|Total. You do not need to use all the variables
!help Lists commands that can be used. Some of these commands may be disabled.
Note from the Channel Founder
I hope you all have fun playing trivia. This room was created for the sole purpose of having fun. The trivia bot is run on my own personal computer, not a server, and is run on my own resources, resources that I could use for other things. Lag is inevitable, from one to three seconds, so please bear with it. If you are not happy and decide to break the above rules, you are more than welcome to leave. No one is forcing you to stay and play.
If you are not grateful with the trivia being run at all, then don't bother showing up.
