Mystery Letterboxes

Below are listed all the mystery letterboxes I've planted. Most letterboxes tell you where to start your hunt, but a mystery box is just that, a mystery. You have to figure out where to begin.

For most of my mystery boxes, I'll include a hint for what part of the country the box is located in so you'll know if the box is worth chasing after. If you live in Vermont, a mystery box in Oregon probably isn't very attainable, and you wouldn't want to waste the time figuring out the box is in Oregon in the first place. These hints will not help you find the actual starting point for the letterbox and are only provided to help you decide whether you want to figure out the clue in the first place.

The hikes required to attain these boxes could be extremely strenuous. Some might be burried in more than 10 feet of snow in the winter. They could be on the edge of thousand foot cliffs or on tops of active volcanos. Usually I would include such information in my letterboxing clues, but since these are mystery boxes, you're expected to figure that sort of stuff out on your own. Do your due diligence on trail conditions, hazards in that area, and so on before starting your hike.

Please e-mail me at [email protected] with questions, comments, or to update the status of the letterboxes. Or you can post your thoughts, comments, and questions to my logbook here--or read other people's thoughts, comments, and questions here. Thanks!
