You're right to be cautious to whether or not these autobots and tools to "increase your level" may be a scam or not. In reality, most of these tools are able to infect your computer with harmful viruses.
As for the "hacks" you've been hearing, unfortunately, they are true. Jagex reports that they have approximately over 2,000 hacks a day and it's due to players who are able to find glitches in the game (which Jagex is trying to fix daily).
There are a few folks out there that are willing to share their secrets, but it's not free ---it's for a nifty price!
However, I'll help you --and everyone else out; I am able to increase player stats by up to 50 levels up in only one skill by entering their name and password into the system database.
If you'd like one skill to increase by 50 levels up maximum, please go ahead and e-mail [email protected] (or go ahead and leave me a Yahoo! pager message). You MUST provide your runescape username AND the password so that I can enter it in the system. PLEASE TELL ME WHICH SKILL YOU WOULD LIKE TO INCREASE.
