Welcome to the 80th anniversary photos pages!

I took these shots (very few, indeed...) at the celebration, an happening that in the words of Will Creedon (yeah, him!), is the "Event of a lifetime".
Couldn't explain it better...

Thousands of Guzzisti from the world, from Holland to Germany, United States, France, Switzerland, Italy of course, and so many other countries, all with their beloved bikes, huge smiles on their faces, and very very good mood.

It is strange for a person like me not to be able to find words, but that is that, I am not able to tell you anything more, perhaps because it is really the experience of a lifetime: in my case, it tought me what really means to be a Guzzista into the heart and soul.
Now that I have the answer well kept into my memories and into my veins, I feel that being a Guzzista will not be anymore a compelling part of my life as it was before, or, to be clear, a passion of earth.
It is now a superior passion, something that has gone beyond, and that could even be forgotten in my life (I hope really not), without losing anything, because I feel like having learned so much about myself and about people, I could just turn to the next road feeling again somehow, well, blessed.
It is pretty much like Kung Fu: at your beginnings, you love it so much, it penetrates every part of your time, but still is skin deep.
Then, from a certain point, it gets below the skin, it gets yours, and it penetrates the deepest parts of yourself.
You don't even think yourself as a practicer of Kung Fu, you feel, that is enough.

So is for Guzzism.

Strange, I have found the words, at the very last, I just hope they make some sense to you!
They make great sense to me, but, as you know, there are more things in heaven and earth than are known to our philosophies.
Something like that, at least.

The author and Ing. Umberto Todero
together for a picture.
Things happened this way: Will Creedon, Gordon de la Mare and myself were coming down from the museum, when "Eagle eye" Will suddenly said "Ehi, isn't him Todero?" pointing at an old man in an office (the office of the picture).
I said "Be sure, Mr. Creedon, 'cause I want to take an autograph and I don't want to look stupid!".
He said he really was, so I tried to enter, but a guard stopped me; I asked him "Excuse me sir, isn't that Ingegner Todero?", and he said "Why, do you know him?" with *suspicious* eyes, perhaps protecting Guzzi's wealth! :-)
I answered no, but that I *really* woul have liked to meet him, so he smiled, and he introduced me to the Man.
Todero was sitting, with people around and his wife near him, talking about work (!), I introduced myself, but I was so embarassed that at a certain point, noticing that he was fatiguing (this I thought!) having to look at me from down up, I started bending my knees to put my face at the level of his (remember he was sitting!).
He started to smile and said "Non son mica'l Papa!" ("I'm not the Pope!" kidding me because he thought I was bending on my knees!). :-)

That is the Story of a great event!

Now a picture of the author and Will Creedon at the Guzzi wind tunnel.
The only bad thing is that this is almost the only picture we had together: too busy getting wondered by the event.
I really thank Will for the great time we had together both in Latina and in Mandello, he is a very good friend to me, and I learned a lot from the confrontation of two so much different ways of life, the way of an american engineer and the way of an italian quasi-philospher.

The author and Mr. Gordon de la Mare (I hope I spelled his name right! :-)
He is a very nice english, and my greatest honour to him goes to the fact that he has been able to spend a couple days  with me without killing me! :-) (yep, I can get that bad! :-)
I sincerely hate him, because he has not only a Centauro, but a Daytona Racing, and even though he is older than me, he is a lot more in shape ;-)
Perhaps God has sent him on earth to show me the way! :-)
To be serious (the previous things are true, though!), I really appreciated his company, he is extremely patient and well mannered, and he too tought me many things, perhaps even noticing it, and I am really looking forward to meeting him and Will again.
