Vital Records of Coventry, CT: Jones Hannah, b. July 21, 1767 of Noah and Dinah (Hichcock) Jones.
Died intestate. Administrator of estate was granted to his wife, Anna, on Apr. 12, 1813.
There is a tombstone inscription in Westchester Cemetery, Colchester, CT, that reads,
"Alfred, son of Robert & Anna Shattuck, d. Apr. 9, 1780, ae. 2[?]." It may be that the transciber misread the date 1780 and it was actually 1789. This would then be accurate for their son, Alfred, b. 11 Apr. 1787, d. 9 Apr. 1789.

History of Esperance: A grist-mill was built upon the opposite side of the stream at an early date by Thomas Thornton, and was afterwards owned by Henry W. Starin; uncle of the present Congressman, John H. Starin, of Fultonville. The last owner of the mill was Henry Brown. It was burned and rebuilt by him, but fire once more laid it in ashes, and Haines & Isham built one upon the Esperance side, which still stands. A paper-mill formerly occupied the site, but by whom it was buil t we are unable to learn. Henry Mandle and Alfred Isham owned the property for many years.
