Ch'n Janette, Damon L. Antoinette, Emulous A, Austin and Bacob M. Jacob was a member of the House of Representatives 1805, 7, 11, Resided in Lebanon, CT.
In the 1850 census Abel Gay was in Lebanon and his wife was Mary 1797 Ct. Antoinette Gay was born 23 Sep 1814, Emulous Gay 8 jun 1816 - after 1850 Syracuse, Ct married on 29 nov 1838 to Dolly A Maxwell and had daughter E.J born in 1842 in Lebanon. Austin Gay (20 oct 1819 - after 1850 Providence, RI) married his 2nd cousin Clarissa Cornelia Loomis, daughter of Timothy Loomis and Betsey Wills. I just checked the 1860 census and found no kids for Austin. He was working as a bartender in a hotel owned by his brother Emulous in Albany, NY. Their daughter is not with them, but at 18, she may have been married by 1860. Jacob M Gay was born on 9 jun 1823 - after 1850 Lebanon. He married Mary S Bullard 1832 Ct - after 1850 and had a son Loyd 1849. In the 1860 census Loyd was with some other family, and I cannot find him or Jacob in 1870. In 1880 there is a 29 year old Loyd Gay in NYC married to Marie L Randall (and living with her parents) but the census says he was born in NY.

They were both devoted members of the Congregational Church. Two of their children lived to mature years: Leonard, mentioned below; and Stephen T., who went West and located at Painesville, Ohio, where he died (he was quartermaster in the same regiment with James A. Garfield, and was always a staunch friend of that eminent Ohio statesman).
