I figured Alexander was his father, but didn't know for sure.George is buried in the Bellmont Center Cemetery, Franklin Co, NY.
Here is some info I have about the children of George Loomis.
Lyman, Silas and Douglas served in the Civil War for the state of Vermont.
Douglas was wounded and had his left arm amputated. He died 31 Oct 1886 in Dakota Territory. He was hunting geese and was shot in the right arm and bled to death. This information came from his Civil War Record. Douglas's wife was Martha Baird, daughter of David and Mary Baird of Chittenden, VT.Hiram moved to Huron, Beadle Co, SD some time after 1880. Maybe Hiram and Douglas moved together, don't know. Hiram died at age 81, about 1926 in Huron. He had three children with his wife Phebe Perry: George, Milo, and Clara.
Milo married Mary Uecker in 1905 in Beadle Co. SD. He died at age 71 in Garden City, SD
Clara married Parker Eggleston in 1895 in Beadle Co., SD.Silas married Carrie Pratt.
Charles H. married Sarah Stinehour.
1186. Ezra Loomis
Joined the church of Vernon, CT, in 1772.
In his father-in-law's will John Hurlburt's name is spelled, Hollibert. See Stiles' Wetherfield Volume II, page 447, for more information.
1216. Jonathan Birge
He commanded a company of militia from Bolton, at the battle of White Plains, where he was wounded in the arm by a musket ball, from the effects of which he died in Stamford, CT, Nov. __, 1776. His widow married (2) Amasa Loomis of Windsor. (NEHGS Register, Vol. 14, p. 266)
