684. Samuel Fuller
The gazetteer of Grafton County, N. H., 1709-1886 lists Samuel Fuller and his six children as inhabitants in 1769. In 1772, at the first town meeting of Campton, Samuel Cook and Samuel Fuller were elected Tithingmen.
Tithingmen were usually associated with frankpledge, a system under Early English Law by which the inhabitants of a community were divided into groups of ten or more, whose members had to produce one of their number charged with the breach of the law or pay a fine. Tithingmen were general overseers over the town and on the Sabbeth their job was to keep worshippers awake, but quiet.
Samuel Fuller died 15 Jan 1776, at Rumney, New Hampshire. Children of Samuel and Mercy Price Fuller were: 1. Samuel 2. Mercy 3. Sarah 4.Timothy. 5. Alpheus 6. Zipporah, 1741. Married Dan Gates, killed 2nd Fr. & Indiana War. 7. Thaddeus 8. Elizabeth 9. Benjamin 10. Mary.
Samuel was born on Sept 11, 1711 at East Haddam, Connecticut. He married (1) Mercy Price on 19 Apr 1732 and (2) Sarah Hall, 30 June 1749.

He went out at "Lexington Alarm" April 19, 1775, and served 14 days; was promoted as Lieutenant, May 1, 1775, in 1st Company, 2nd Regiment Connecticut Continentals under Col. Joseph Spencer, and was discharged Dec. 17, 1775. No issue noted. (Cone Gen., p 17)
