404. Nathaniel Loomis

From the New London Gazette, dated Friday, Dec. 22, 1769: "Ashford, Dec. 12.--Last Friday (ed: 12/8/1769) died suddenly here, Deac. Nathaniel Loomis in his 70th year of his age." Dr. Elias Loomis records: He d. Feb . 1770. His wife survived him. Columbia and Ashford.

410. Aaron Loomis Sr.

Settled in Torrington after marriage. His entire family joined the Torrington Church on 6 May 1744 (Stiles). Aaron and Deborah settled in Torrington, first on a farm a little southwest of Charles S. Munger's present dwelling, in a house by a creek. After a few years, he sold his farm and purchased the one now occupied by Sheldon Barber, where he died. (Orcutt)
