Although "The Descendants of Joseph Loomis" lists two marriages for Abigail to Jerijah and Josiah, the dates of marriage & birth of the children are almost identical. Also, as Bill Lyman notes in his genealogy of the Lyman/Loomis families, "The Bolton Ch. Records, by Rev. Thomas Smith, gives the data for family of Jerijah Loomis, and as no mention is made in said records as to the family of Josiah (143). I firmly believe that Dr. Elias Loomis's deductions are wrong, and that there is but one family, that of Jerijah."
