302. Capt. Joseph Loomis
He was appointed Ensign in 1722, Lt. in 1732, and Capt. in 1738. He took an active part in Father Ralle's war. A descendant of his is Gen. Alfred Cutler Barnes, of Brooklyn, NY.
In his will dated Jan. 20, 1747-8, proven Aug. 12, 1748, (see Manwaring's Digest of the Early Conn. Probate Court Records, Vol. III), he mentions "Eldest dau. Mabel Hollibert, second dau. Keziah King, and granddau. Mary Fitch, dau. of Elijah Fitch."
Stiles in "Ancient History of Windsor" credits the marriage of Mary Cooley to Joseph Looms, b. 1684.
From Thomas Koch:
Joseph Loomis #117 needs to be eliminated. I just noticed that he has the exact same birthdate as Joseph Loomis #67. The death record specified that Joseph Loomis who died on 19 Mar 1683 was Joseph, son of Joseph, son of Joseph, and Windsor records only one birth on 28 Nov 1682. So I feel that Joseph Loomis #116 did not die young, and is in fact the ancestor of the children of Joseph Loomis #117.
The family removed from Northampton, Massachusetts. to Lebanon, Connecticut, 1696.
1205. Joseph Lyman
Reverend Joseph Lyman (Yale College, 1767) was minister of the First Congregational Church in Hatfield, Hampshire County, Massachusetts for almost 55 years.
Elizabeth and Daniel lived 2.5 miles south of Windsor Center which would place them in the Deerfield section of present day Windsor. Samuel Barber’s will of 21 Feb 1708/9 left £25 to Elizabeth, Mindwell, and Sarah, when they become 18 years of age. This would mean Elizabeth was born after 1689. [Barbour Index; Jerijah Barber Manuscript; Loomis Gen; Windsor Hist. Soc:Filer Gen,1991, Arnold]
1228. Elisha Loomis
Removed to Tolland (Co.), 1750. No evidence of whether or not he married.
1230. David Loomis
This person may have been confused with the David Loomis, son of David Loomis, born on the same date. The only David Loomis born on 13 Mar 1717/18 was the son of David Loomis. Since his date of death is based on Daniel Loomis' will, and there is no further record of this David Loomis, it is probable that this David never existed.
309. Josiah Loomis Sr.
Josiah Loomis, Sr., bought land in Simsbury, Conn. in 1713 and was living there in 1741.
A Digest of the Early Connecticut Probate Records (Online database: NewEnglandAncestors.org, New England Historic Genealogical Society, 2006), (A Digest of the Early Connecticut Probate Records, by Charles W. Manwaring, R. S. Peck & Co. Printers, Hartford, CT, 1904.):Volume 2, Page 536
Kelsey, Elizabeth. Court Record, Page 118-1 March, 1725-6: This Court grant letters of Adms. on the estate of Elizabeth Kelsey, late of Windsor decd., unto Thomas Kelsey of Windsor and Josiah Loomis of Simsbury. Recog., £200.
From "A Genealogy of the Descendants of William Kelsey" by Edward A. Claypool and Azelea Clizbee; published: New Haven, Conn.: The Tuttle, Morehouse & Taylor Company,1928; p. 118: ELIZABETH KELSEY, eldest child of Thomas and Elizabeth Kelsey, was probably born about 1689, at Windsor, died after 1726, probably at the same place. She married Jan. 22, 1707/8, JOSIAH LOOMIS, born Nov. 28, 1684, at Simsbury; son of Daniel Loomis and his wife, Mary Ellsworth.
Elizabeth Kelsey and her husband, Josiah Loomis, were both living in 1726 when the distribution of her mother's estate was made. We have no further record of either of them or their children.

315. Benjamin Loomis
Notes from Occupation event: Weaver
Note from Bill Lyman: Dr. Elias Loomis records that he d. Jan. 2, 1763; but the following appeared in the "Hartford Courant." on Dec. 9, 1783: "On Friday last. (Dec. 5), as Mr. Benjamin Loomis was chopping wood at his door, he was seiged with a fit which instantly put a period to this mortal state, in the 87th year of his age. Windsor, Conn." No other Benjamin appears who so nearly complies with these dates, as No. 130 above. But was it he? See Burke Gen., p. 172.
