88. Rebecca Loomis

Stiles gives both this Rebecca and Rebecca, dau. of Deacon John Loomis, Jr. , as the wife of Josiah Rockwell of Lebanon, CT. However, I have listed the marriage only under Rebecca, dau. of Deacon John Loomis, Jr.

Death: 13 NOV 1742 in East Windsor, Hartford, Connecticut ???

Josiah Rockwell

Elias Loomis credits Josiah Rockwell with marrying both Rebecca Loomis, dau. of Deacon John Loomis, Jr., b. 10 Dec 1687, and Rebecca Loomis, b. 10 Dec 1682, dau. of Nathaniel Loomis. Because of the ages at the time of marriage, and the ages of the children compared to the ages of the two Rebeccas, it is my opinion that Josiah married the daughter of Deacon John Loomis, Jr. Therefore, I have listed the known children of this union under these parents.

Hartford, CT Probate Records, 1729-1750 (URL:
http://www.ancestry.com/search/rectype/inddbs/4376.htm)
A Digest of the Early Connecticut Probate Records, 1742-1745: Children named in Josiah's 1742 will are Josiah, Ezra, Ruth, Waitsill, Eunice, Rebecca (wife of Andrew Carrier).

450. Rebecca Rockwell

Rebecca Rockwell b. 25 MAY 1715, d. 20 SEP 1807 Marlborough, Hartford Co, CT, m. 27 OCT 1727 Colchester, New London Co., CT Andrew Carrier (s/o Andrew Carrier and Mary Adams) b. 02 FEB 1706 Colchester, d. 06 SEP 1776 Colchester (13 ch.)

If the above were correct, Rebecca would have been twelve years old at the time of her marriage.

89. Sgt. Samuel Loomis Sr.

From "A Genealogical Dictionary of the First Settlers of New England," Vol. 3, by James Savage, p.114: LOOMIS, SAMUEL, Westfield, eldest s. of the preced. m. 14 Apr. 1678, Hannah, d. of the first Thomas Hansett, had Samuel, b. 28 Apr. 1681; James, 25 Feb. 1683, d. next yr.; James, 8 Oct. 1686, d. young; Hannah, 29 Jan. 1691; Deliverance, 13 May 169 4, d. within 3 yrs.; and Joshua, 21 July 1696, d. at 4 yrs.; and he d. 6 Nov. 1711.

91. Ruth Loomis

Stiles & Savage disagree on the birthplace of Ruth. The disagreement is caused by rendering different dates of the family's removal to Windsor. Stiles lists the date as 1661, while Savage said the move occurred in 1660.

Joseph Smith

Son of William and Elizabeth (Stanley) Smith of Farmington, Conn.

493. Nathaniel Loomis

Died without issue.

504. Hezekiah Loomis

"Descendants of Joseph Loomis in America," by Elias Loomis, page 140, states that Hezekiah was "living 1746, an idiot."
